Have had a pretty rough time with this car lately as some of you know with the tranny mount problem and vibration in this driveline and finding the right mount as I have posted in the tranny forum but I finally got that problem corrected and we made it to the car show today I was wanting to get to. Prayers were answered and " NO RAIN ". We got to spend the day with my boys, Tyler and Chris. Spent it at a very nice German restaurant today where the car show was at, Hofbrauhaus House over in Newport, Ky. just across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio. There were 170 cars there and was a nice turn out. Mine and Tylers car placed in the top 30 for a trophy. Found out later after the show ended that both of the cars were in the top 5. Which made me feel a lot better but still, spending the day with my boys at a car show with a lot of my friends and at a German restaurant which has some of the best food in the area is about as good as it gets. It hasn't been but a year ago that my oldest son would not speak to us over a girl he married but that seems to have worked out great now and they close next Friday on their first house that is less than a mile down the road from us. So today was a good day for a change. Here is a few pics.

Bill, I think the tranny woes are whipped but I still have a vibration. I think I know what that is though. First, my driveshaft is a little short. I have 2.5 inches between the back of the tranny and the driveshaft yoke. And since I am carring too much stuff in the trunk like canopy, chairs and stuff for the shows, I think the pitch on the rearend has changed and also the fact that with the new tranny mount installed, it changed the pitch a little. I am going to shim the rearend about 3 * and see if that don't help it. I could tell that when I went over certain spots in the road and the car bounced a little, the vibration changed with the bounce which tells me that I probably should not be carrying all that crap in the trunk. But on a hot or rainy day at a car show, the canopy comes in real handy.

I am sure the shaft being short could be part of the issue. Did you see if you could get a look at the tail shaft bushing while you were working on the mount? I would suspect it might be wallowed a tad out of shape.

didn't see anything worn. I haven't put very many miles on this the way it was. Probably didn't put 100 miles on it. will keep an eye on it. want to get the driveshaft lengthened and see what that does.

Cool pics, love the caddy.
Keep in mind when you put the shim in (I assume you are going to put the yoke down)
Check what you need loaded with a tank of gas, your weight, passenger and trunk load of what ever you haul.
Make the changes before cutting the shaft, cutting a drive shaft shorter is cheap, making it longer is about a $250.00 ouch.

I am going to post some pics of the guage on the rearend so you guys can see where it is at first. Lengthening the driveshaft will cost $180.00 according to the driveline place. Thanks.
