So I just picked up two Chevy Van door-jamb switches for my '74 Duster (stupid nut-sizing had me guessing for weeks) and attempted to install them. My issues started when I attempted to locate the wires in the jumble under the dash.

Question: The driver side has two wires: one black with yellow stripe, and ones with both a yellow wire and black with white stripe wire. The passenger side only has one wire, which is yellow. Am I missing a wire or am I incorrectly using a dual-connector switch where I should have a single connector switch? I searched all over for another wire on the passenger side, but cannot locate another wire. My thoughts were that it would ground itself out when inserted into the jamb, which would be the reason for having a single wire. Am I missing something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I need an interior dome light.

Thanks Gryzynx. Does that mean I need a single wire switch for the right, or can the second connector remain open (not have a wire on it)?

I plugged them in, yet the light remains lit even when both plungers are suppressed.
