Early A Spitfire headers!

I have been lucky to find a set of Spitfire headers for my 65 Dart 2 dr sedan. The car will be built with column shifted automatic ttansmission.
The problem is that the rubber boot on the end is against the header pipe.
Any info how other early a owners have installed Spitfire headers?

cut and lengthen the steering shaft 3/4"-1". it will put the wheel closer to you but you'll get used to it. got them to work on a 66 column shift like that.

They are not made for the 65 with a column cable shifted transmission.

It seems they are made for Dart, Valiant and Barracuda with floor shift automatic transmission only!

I wonder how the early Doug's headers was produced? They are rarely seen!
