Edelbrock intake thermostat bolt size?

The used performer 318 intake i nabbed has a stripped thermostat housing bolt. I need to helicoil it.

Does anyone know the size helicoil i need, off hand?

I am also debating changing it to studs. And am curious about shavings falling into the engine... part of me just wants to rtv and threadlock the **** out of it.

It takes a 1/2" wrench so it's 5/16-18 --- FYI if you do not know the thread size a good way to figure out is what size wrench it takes

I wont be able to get back to the motor till sunday, so i was hoping to find out info on here.

I thought that thermostats had 3/8" x 18 thread....
