Anybody using electric cut out for open headers with the flip of a switch?

Whattya got and how much?

Just thinking of more ways to toy with the mustang crowd.

the wife wanted them, so bought Doug's 2 1/2" electric cut outs. They work great.

When the TTI headers were installed the exhaust had to be changed from the headers to mufflers and don't have new pictures, but this is what it did look like and it was louder, but not like open headers. Now it goes straight into the cutouts and sounds about the same as the open headers

they were about $500 when I bought them several years ago. Come in 3" also, are knife blade design and have NO LEAKS closed. There are cheaper ones that are butterfly design, but thought they might leak.

I got a QuickTime electric cutout on my truck. Worked fine for awhile then started leaking just enough that you could hear it still does. You can put RTV around the opening is what I hear but I have not tried it. It more than likely needs cleaning. Then the electric motor went out and I had to replace it. More trouble than what it is worth IMHO. It does sound good but I'm just about ready to take it off. I forgot how much I paid for it. I won't put any on my cuda because it will be something that will want to tear up. Some folks might have good luck with them but Im not one of those folks.

my new pipes with the doug's cutouts

I decided on the Doug's since it is a knife blade design and figured it would be less likely to leak vs. the butterfly design on the cheaper ones I seen
