Well last Friday was my first attempt at a 9.9. Did the burn out and the pressure plate rubbed a hole through my hydraulic bearing hose....dead before a pass. How embarrassing. Anyway fixed it and tie wrapped the hoses away from the offending soft locker. Ready to try again tonight. It's about a 2 hour drive up 495 to 125. I've got a friend coming to help strap me in and video tape. 10.0s last year at 134 and change. 8.5 chassis certification. No NHRA license so a 9.9 will end it. They said I can save the time slip towards a license run. I chopped 90 pounds out of the car. Was 3440 now 3350. Wish me luck!

I ran a few 6.30s/1/8 at Irwindale without a license, got my wrist slapped, told don't do it again, but never thrown out or stopped from making runs.
But I did manage to slow down a bit with changes here and there.

I did see one guy who completely disrespected the rules, and get immediately thrown out of the track and told not to come back without everything to be legal.
Chevy pickup with lap belts, no bar at all, and a twin turbo 427 LS, good for 5.70, on his one pass.

I ran a few 6.30s/1/8 at Irwindale without a license, got my wrist slapped, told don't do it again, but never thrown out or stopped from making runs.
But I did manage to slow down a bit with changes here and there.

I did see one guy who completely disrespected the rules, and get immediately thrown out of the track and told not to come back without everything to be legal.
Chevy pickup with lap belts, no bar at all, and a twin turbo 427 LS, good for 5.70, on his one pass.

a dumbass at the track last weekend, who is a dumbass with a 57 Chevy truck and a twin turbo set up went for a 1/4 mile pass when he was supposed to do a 1/8 ended up crashing his truck, well over 200k into the build. He got yelled at after that too lol

It was a bad scene. Best run was a 10.7 at 133. Car bunny hopping.and rolling through the staging beams...seems to be a problem with the first section of the Lenco. The section closest to the bell doesn't seem to be doing anything. There is like no resistance when I pull the lever. I'll pull the trans cover on the floor and pull the fill plug. I can try to sniff and see if I can smell burned clutches. I can't believe the clutches are gone. It's only got about 100 runs. But I'm just guessing. Oh well shift happens!

Didn't have a license and used to wait for green, bump the car out, turning on timers count to 2, then launch.

11.50 at 150 LOL

Then they put in the MPH rule...

I saw a lot of guys at Irwindale run HARD to 330 ft, then ease off to a safe 660. You can interpret a 1/8 pass off a 330 number, just like you can interpret a 1/4 mi # from an 1/8 pass.
(Mostly street racer types, with minimal to zero safety stuff)
And 330 times never appeared on the scoreboards.

Well I adjusted the front section to 46 pounds. The other 2 sections were ok. The fluid was a bit dirty. I can't test in my suburban neighborhood but I did do a 2500 rpm.shift into 2nd and it worked. Not sure what will happen at 7200 rpms but I will find out!
