Estimated HP out of a 440?

Hi all, I am coming close to installing my engine into my cuda and I was wondering what my est. HP will be at the wheels. Here is the info on my 440, my engine was originally built as a full race motor running at 14.5:1 compression, but we wanted it to be semi streetable. So we low comp heads on it to cut down the compresion ratio down to about 11.5:1. I am running JE dome top pistons, Eagle connecting rods, and a Mopar Performance cam. The specs on the cam are 292/ 292, Lift .509/ .509. Adjustable roller rockers, and a 2700 stall. I have a pretty unique intake system its a Weiand 6 pak setup. I am backing this set up with a 727 and a Dana 60 w/ 4.10s. As for tires I am not sure what I am going to be using yet. Please let me know what you guys think I am open to all comments both good and constructive.

If your running 906 or stock iron heads my guess would be about 400 to 415 at crank, i think most say 15 to 20 % loss through drive train, so maybe around 330 at wheel. The intake and pistons will hurt a bit. Now if you had 850 dp, rpm manifold, eddy close chamber heads, with flat tops. 450 to 470 hp

I think that is a very conservative estimate. Considering there some info about the build missing. Heads, Are the ported? Alot of variables there.

The heads are iron heads that have been ported and have had a valve job. We also used the thickest copper head gaskets we could find to cut it down that much. I was planning on running 91 octane with some 108 octane booster, I hope that will be enough for that engine. What do you guys think, enough? As for the intake what do you guys think yes or no?

I'll be honest with ya, if you're looking for a mean and nasty strip/strip combo I'd loose the Weiand and install either a MP M1 single plane with a 4 hole spacer and an 850-950 DP'r. Failing that a Edelbrock RPM Performer dual plane with and 850-950 vacuum. Both will be easier to tune, IMHO, than that Weiand six pak and probably out perform it. If you're going to keep the Weiand get a little nastier with the cam like a roller in the high .500 range. 500hp at the flywheel is easy with the first 2 choices.

That is a build I would expect to see from the early 70s. the static ratio is still high, and I dont think it will run well on pump fuel. It's going to want a lot of timing because of the dome and the huge chambers. The right way to fix the compression issue was with replacing the pistons and the camshaft choice could be better. The intake is a great part when you have the engine for it... I don't think you do here. So when all these come together, I think it will make 400-430hp on pump fuel at the crank and it will be rough to tune.
