At least for me. Anniversary yesterday and the wifey bought me a 22 in. monitor. Yoo hoo. And I see a lot of people I know on line. Morning all.

Big monitors kick ***. I've got a 24" but I need a better video card so I can bump up to the optimum resolution.

Any monitor will have what's a called an "Optimum Resolution". This resolution will keep everything in proportion (Not stretch everything) and give you the clearest picture. All video cards have their limits as to the resolution they can provide.
First, check the owners manual as what the optimum resolution is that your monitor requires. Then (if your running windows) you can right click on blank portion of your screen, left click on properties, left click on the settings tab and you will see two settings. One should be set to "true color 32 bit". The next will be a sliding bar that will allow you to slide up and back from the lowest to the highest resolution. If the highest resolution won't meet your monitors requirements, it's time for a new (more powerful) video card. You might also find a resolution that will improve your picture for the time being but you may have some stretching.
