FABO Small Block header IDEA*

Ad here it is on the car to show the space you have on 69s at least.

That header, me and my good friend fabbed, was for a Twin Turbo Big Block Chevy...being built to go 8.xx (in the 1/4) on DOT Legal Tires, and drive on the street....the engine made 1028 hp on just the 8.5:1 engine....and it would have made over 2000hp on boost....sadly...my close friend that was Spearheading that project was killed in a horrible car accident 2 days before Christmas 2008....and the car has sat untouched in the corner of the shop since...:pale:

We did complete the Hotside Turbo piping and were getting ready to do the coldside plumbing before his accident...

The guy was a genius and I really looked up to him, he is dearly missed, by many.

As a tribute to him...here are more pics of this project that so many hours we worked side by side on:

and one of the ONLY pictures I have with him in it:

Rest in Peace Wes...You sure are missed!

Enjoy...this guy was one of the best people I have ever met...we were like brothers, we had cookouts, drank Miller High Life, rode dirtbikes and HotRodded around town in his 900hp Street Legal 9.40 @ 149 mph Eagle Talon AWD...many times.
:sad5:

Kelly: Condolences on the loss of your buddy but to say that type of fabrication is awesome is an understatement. That's a show stopper. Checkin on flanges on my end.
Small Block

That's truly some amazing fabrication you and your pal did on that setup. So very sorry you lost your great friend and obviously, a great mentor.
Tom

I would like to see some something in a Tri-Y design like the spitfires. 1-5/8 or 1-3/4 with a 2.5 or 3" collector would be great.

Materials are spec'd out and priced

Mock Up car is arranged

Just need the materials in hand and the mock up car on location and I will be elbows deep in a prototype set.

Stay tuned..........:rambo:

Resurrecting this thread.....will be purchasing a New TiG welder soon.

Just about to bring my duster home from getting painted.

Will be removing the Hood, and getting started on the Prototype set of Stainless Log Manifolds for 67-76 A-bodies.....as soon as I get the TiG welder all set-up and a bottle of Argon.

Met a local Mopar Guy (porksoda) with a Early A 1966 Dart.
He is doing a V8 swap soon, and we agreed to get together and do a set of Stainless Log Manifolds that fit early A's as well!

So stay tuned for 2013.

its not just the economy to be carefull of but the technology at wish way were are moving i nevented a camera mounting bracket/box and finger control switch to take a piture with your bow as in bow and arrow hunting while i was offerd 68,000.00 for my design and patant work i turned it down in 2000 along came digital camera"s and washed my $100,000.00 investment to prototype and produce not include marketing wich at that time the sky was the limit for demand of the product ,the technoligy was closing a windo so fast i got my awakaning to seeing into the future ,can make you or break you . yes i do own 65 barracuda"s yes i am a potential buyer for you but you bettter do your math read the writing on the wall look at where the future is going check your demand for your product and see what i missed. we are a world going to electical cars H/P will soon be a thing of the past in a gasoline driven vehicle and all our muscle cars and hotrods will be dinosours or model Ts from days gone by. i love your enthusiasm for your vision, but dont be blinded by the reality of technalogy consuming this as a pipe dream, as i think you like i was 15 years to late to do anything about what we all want now or will need in the 5 years it will take to wipe this 100 year old fad out, like we did with horses and bring magnetic power driven cars into the future
i would have loved to see my camera"s on evry bodys bows ,cars, helmets .handlebars ,walls but moition censored triggerd ,digital camera technalogy came and ate me and KODAK a100 year old co. and thru us to the side to get out of the way for the future like i said i would luv a set of PRINE HEADERS but i dont think the future will support it and we need to get looking into non fuel burning exahst /turbo driven magnetic fed magnetic powerd air fed system to power us around because gas power is a thing of the past but your header may be a part of a way to power the magnetic turbo fed air fed car of the future as the tree mounted cameras showed me i was 3 feet off my target and 20 years behind in time but yourwork sure looks nice and i will still be a costomer until technalogy takes this part of the ride away from us G/L dont let me step on your dream but we must all realize TESLA still hasnt shown us where we can go with a altrernating current but did open a bigger door to the future than we used yet

wow prine that is amazing work sorry you lost your buddy that quik i did tooo i totaly understand what a loss that is but i did not see any of those pics before i wrote what i did or i would have just said i am truly sorry and that is amaizing work

with all that said now run that motor backwards the pistons and the head being eletro magnetic with lets just say 8 batteries for a # and the intake being off and 1 big box of little generators making more power fed to a battery=electrical storage system mabee like the rockers driving little alternators likea mechanical fuel pump but generating electicity like a wind mill follow me ? all our reserve power goes to batteries and are other power were making drive motors for our bigger electric magnetic system to feed the drive gears and electric system lights, windows so on, so on. now we take our reserve to controll or feed are motion off of ore generated power to speed the power thru a cintrifical cluctch system to take the power from alternaters geard off of a shaft system like a drive shaftwith gears toturn these alternators without a belt but a gear drive system driving more power to our soursesto keep us turning like perpetual motion but power being stored into are battery source so we have reserve power to neber have to plug it in like the concept of a volt but we make our own fuel hope some1 can follow this because we dont need to be on no electrical grid even for our own houses 1nce we figure the rest of tesla's equation

Dude I would be interested in a set or would be interested in helping. I have 2 65 darts both V8 cars one with stock front end and power steering and one with alterK front with manual rack. It's always been a huge issue with 64-66 A bodies and the factory manifolds especially on drivers side is super restrictive. Even if you made a tubular manifold who cares if its equal length it would flow 50 percent better than the cast ones. I do fab work but never built headers yet.

Oh yea screw electric crap and live in the now. They can't crush old technology overnight that's B/S. so I got something for the tree hugging skeptics, in 2004 a buddy of mine and me built a small block Chevy that we got to burn CLEANER than a Honda civic on the sniffer at the smog shop my friend owned. Yea we ran cats for it to be fair but with the proper tune and higher compression it burned cleaner than my at the time 2003 Honda civic ex. So if that's not something to say for old technology than I don't know what does. Chase your dream bro. I have an invention I'm working on for the marine industry even though that's in the toilet also. I've done it all on my dime and its been tough but it will pay off in the long run. You never know what tomorrow will offer so do what makes you happy. Hell ill buy a set!

The internal combustion engine will live for quite a while yet...there will just be different fuels to run it on in the future, eg: natural gas, propane, etc. We will still need performance parts, such as headers to provide the increased power and mileage from these alternate fuels. I'm subscribing to this thread as I may be in the market for a set of well-made, good fitting A-Body, small block headers in the future.

Keep the updates coming, gents!

I'm with ya 100 percent on that one 65val

i would think you could find a set of off the shelf headers to fit the car with the alter K and rack steering a set of block hugger headers may fit

Standard 67-72 will work now that everything is out of the way on that car. I'm not going to drop another 4k into my other darts that I don't care as much about. The early A's have always been plagued by this problem and I've played with other types of headers in the past and they are all a pain in the ***. I got nothing but attitude when I called TTI to get info so they can go F themselves. I'd like to see an affordable set that fit good and work better than stock manifolds. I'm not a fan of cutting huge holes in my fender wells either. Race cars I'm ok with but a nice show car, no. Of corse I had to pick a body style I'd get screwed with! Ha!

If someone could get Harold to be more reliable in the building of his Tri-Y's, and modify them to fit power steering, I think the early A guys would be happy???

Just an Update......getting ready to pull the trigger on the TiG welder!!!

I'm not joking about doing this Header Idea.

If you want to help out....look at my classified ads and help me finance the Prototypes through buying my surplus/not needed parts.

sadly....been digging back through my old threads for inspiration.

I used to be so Enthused....:wack:

Dont give up your idea if you truly believe in it. Im still struggling daily with how to make usable bumper brackets for different model cars. I had the most support from my wife who believed in me. I knew my idea would work but it would take time to get there. Hell I borrowed A little money from my 401K to buy my tig welder. Just keep working at it, it will just take longer than you planned. Good luck to you. jeff Lingenfelter

I love to see people get ideas and become motivated. Looking forward to seeing a prototype soon!
