Those of you who use Facebook, are y'all having problems getting the Marketplace locator to work? It has me stuck in San Francisco and I cannot change it no matter what I do.

It works for me. On location, click on the text, you should be able to change it there.
It has, in the past, changed on me. I use F/B on both my phone and laptop. When I was traveling, it would pick up where I had been and give me results fro those areas.
I also get some interesting stuff in the marketplace feed too. For some reason, it keeps featuring garden tillers. I have no idea why.

Works fine here. Can you click on the map and set your own location?

I think your "location" may have changed if/when you clicked on someone else's link. For example, say I post a link here (on FABO) for a Marketplace ad for something located here in Minneapolis, and you click on it. Next day you go into FB, and your current location (surprise!) may show you as being in Minneapolis. Now there may be some sort of "lock" on FB that doesn't allow for this to happen, and others may "poo-poo" this, but I've had it happen to me on several occasions.

And/or perhaps it's a computer setting thing, as in the "allow Google to access your current location".....

Regardless, it does happen.

Edit: I've also had the location get "stuck" on me when I've been searching for something in Chicago, let's say, and the next time I come back it searches the Chicago area.

i have it set for 100 miles. damn thing gives me **** all the way in California.
Oh, yeah! Same here.

Or your looking for a specific item (widget number ABC123, for example), but it doesn't show you any until page 4 of the search. CL is MUCH better at searches than FB, that's for sure.

The reason you get stuff outside your area is those ads have been boosted where you pay a few dollar for the ads to appear in a wider area.

Depending on how many dollars you spend you can get your ads pasted all over the country. You would be amazed what $10 will buy in exposure.

I switch the desired search area on my FMP all the time. I like using Las Vegas on 500 miles as it gets me everything in the Southwest.

About 6 cities and you can cover the entire US if set on 500 miles.

Yes. I continuously have to re-instill my location origin point.
Sloppy programming.
My locator switches to some place in Florida half the time.
I just keep switching back.

I hope that you and Kitty are doing well.

AI is controlling a large portion of FB. I was kicked off, about 7 months ago. When I clicked onto the link for the reason....it said AI had determined that I didn't
conform to their rules and corporate views. I could get back on, if AI could interrogate me further. Yeah....**** off.

It's not that I get ads outside my area. My complete location is changed and I cannot change it back.

It FINALLY let me change it just now. I don't know what was up.
