Dodge won the last 3 races in a row and guess what....They get 50 lbs added for their success...Lol

Got to love the GM sponsored NHRA.....

Lots of people saying FSS should, could, would be the "new" pro stock. Guess what? They were right. Factor the hemi into non competitive-ness because the competition doesn't want to work to get it.

According to the Internet, which is always right, the Challenger Demon is already 4275 pounds.
The COPO Camaro is 3354 pounds.
As a rule of thumb, every 100 pounds is good for a tenth of a second ET.
The Demon is almost 1000 pounds heavier...... And still faster.
Just sayin'

Wondered why NHRA never added any weight to the pro stock class?

Guess its ok to have a chebbie dominated class but not Mopar.

Oh yeah they also screw the Harleys.

Saw the factory stockers at the Norwalk race this year - my favorite class of the entire event! Not just because the Mopars dominated, but because they are so relatable. They look like something anybody could have in their garage, and they are wicked fast! Hope to see the class grow.

Toyota should put a pumped 5.7 Tundra motor in the '19 Supra.

Dam I might have read this wrong !
nhra added weight to the hemis yrs ago so bill grumpy Jenkins could beat them. Wally Parks even admitted it and apologized to Ronnie Sox for it yrs later.
And the harleys were given a weight break advantage so they could run w/ the Suzuki`s , look it up !

Plus, they let the Harleys run four valves per cylinder and more cubic inches. Follow the money.

its gotten completely nuts every thing has a chevv under the hood even in the street rods and street machines !!!

Based on performance numbers from the 2018 School of Automotive Machinists & Technology NHRA Factory Stock Showdown Series, the NHRA Technical Department is increasing the minimum weight on all Dodge Challenger Drag Paks from 3,550 pounds to 3,575 pounds. All Chevrolet Camaro COPOs and Ford Mustang Cobra Jets will have a reduction in minimum weight from 3,550 to 3,525 pounds. This rule change will go into effect immediately for the 2018 AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals.

Those *** hats cant figure out if the shoe or the sock goes on first, let alone run a division...

No wonder the're running it into the ground..

It should be weight as sold, engine CI as sold and as much HP as you can make.

Let all the engineers figure out how to make power not just buy the win with dumb *** rules...

That's how it was done for decades.
Cut weight, add power, sell cars....

My bad.

At first nhra added 50 lbs to the challengers then changed it to 25 lbs and removed 25 lbs from the crapo camaros...

Apparently their is a SFI spec on these cars that put the max weight at 3600 lbs...and put the challenger right against it.....and from what I have read the challengers can not made the minimum weight of 3550....so this may not have any effect on them at all..

But Nhra will make them removed to two plug wires in the future....if needed to get the GM and Fords in the winner circle..
