The boss, aka the wife Ernie, wants an antique farmhouse sink for he rfuture kitchen. She does not want an apron style of sink that is somewhat common today. She has an Okeefe Merritt gas oven from the 50's and she wants a farmhouse sink to go with it. American Standard (?) sells one that will work if we can't find what she is looking for but she really would prefer an antique one. Just to give you an idea of what it looks like.......

The faucet that's on the one in the picture is still available. I was shocked to find them at HD in Rhode Island. It mounts thru the back and has 8" centers. My sister has the sink pictured in her basement where the servant quarters were. They still use it tho the servants are no longer there. Concentrate your search in the NE and let me know if you need a new faucet. I can get my son to pick you up a new one and ship it to you. My son makes a living buying estate auctions so I'll get him looking for one for you.

Looks like a fiberglass POS.
Original are cast iron porcilin covered.
You really need to have cabinets under it to support the weight.
These weigh about 500 lbs and up.
I can give you a pic of the one in my house which is enclosed in oak and stainless counters. Built in 1908

Yup,
Home Depo is to only gig in town that carrys replacement facuets.

Doug, have you tried looking up house recyclers? Those guys tear houses apart right before they get demolished.

Hey Ink, we find those things pretty regular here in So. Mo. and in case ya dont know those can have a new finish put on em also if the porcilain is chipped away. I can watch for one for ya if you aint too far away.

We have a backmount faucet that we have never used. We have found a few different ones online. I would greatly appreciate it if your son would keep his eyes open for us.....

We have checked the ones in Spokane a few times with no luck. They told us that they will get a couple a year in but usually they are pretty hammered. We spoke with a guy in an antique shop in Kettle Falls, he has been looking for one locally for a few years now and has not found one worth spending the $$ on....

Small Block, we live in Eastern Washington. If you should find one we will gladly pay you to crate it & ship the thing. Ernie really wants one. We pretty much have a deal that if I give in & let her have her way with the kitchen then I can have my way with the car when I get to it.....

I agree. My sister's is cast iron and don't forget even if you get one that's chipped or damaged they can be redone. My sisters is mounted on a steel rail (at the wall) and 2 steel legs on the front.
I talked to my son, James, and he said he saw one a couple of weeks ago. He's going to check and see if the owner is interested in selling it.

Title: Antique Farmhouse Sink - Cast Iron with Pillar Legs (St. Louis City)
Price: $250.00
Posted:12/02/2011 01:56AM CDT
Type: I am selling
Location: St louis, Missouri

This antique sink (with the highly desireable pillar legs) is circa 1910. Fully cast iron. It is dirty, but looks to be in decent shape. It’s sitting in my garage, and I’d like to be able to park my car in there this winter. Again, very dirty, but doesn’t appear to have any significant damage. Again, that is dirt and cobwebs on the sink.

Stamped WOLFF on the bottom and it is a 20X60.

I’ve heard values for this sink anywhere from $250 to $1500 but have no idea of its real worth, only that the legs are very rare. If you want it and have time to give it a little TLC I’m taking offers until December 8th. Best offer takes it home. Sale is cash only, and you pick up in South City… Will take a couple strong guys to load it.

If you can't find one of those, you could always buy her a "fur sink"... LOL!

Retro is big right now. Try pricing a restored refrigerator. You can go online and see full kitchens redone. Kinda cool ,reminds me of when I was a kid.
