Charlie Browns Christmas and Rudolf with Burl Ives. They're timeless classics.

The Original "Miracle on 34th Street", with Maureen O'Hare, Edmond Gwinn (as Kris), John Paine, and a very young Natalie Wood.

A 1951 version of "A Christmas Carol" with Alastair Sim as Scrooge.

And, of course, The Muppet's Christmas Carol.

It's a Wonder Life

Original Miracle on 34th St.

Home alone & Christmas Vacation are great comedies, but the Classics are the best

Not entirely a Christmas movie, but one of my all-time favorites.

Beautiful shoplifter Barbara Stanwyck is taken into custody by NY assistant DA Fred MacMurray over the Christmas court recess in a beautifully done, sentimental love story with pre-world war II family values.

Comes on Turner Classics Wed Dec 12 at 9:45

Ernest saves Christmas! "Know what I mean Vern?" lol

Christmas vacation, Christmas with the Kranks, home alone, I'll be home for christmas, to name a few of my favoriets.......

The Muppet's Christmas Carol.
Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
The first Die Hard
Charlie Brown's Christmas
The Santa Clause ( first one)

Santa Claus conquers the martians..its SOOOO bad! Christmas Vacation. Polar Express.

A Christmas Story 2 - You'll Shoot Your Other Eye Out Kid
LOL
but seriously, Charlie Brown Christmas

Christmas Story
I was working in downtown Cleveland at the time where some of it was filmed. They closed the streets down around Public Square for a couple days and advertised for extras and old cars to fill the crowd scenes. The store front window scene, the parade and the Santa Clause visit were all filmed then. The Higbee's store is now a temporary casino. At the time I didn't think much of it and it didn't do well when released, but as time goes by, it has grown in popularity.

But what really got me was when my dad told me he liked it because the street and alley scenes reminded him of the neighborhood he grew up in on the west side.

I go to the Christmas Story house every couple years just to see what's new and I take out-of-towners there. The house was listed and sold on e-bay maybe 10 years ago and has since been restored. (it was bought by a CA dude) One of my Sons of the Desert friends donated the old wooden tube radio that is currently in the front room. The guy who delivers the lamp in the movie still lives right down the street and there always seems to be a couple of the original actors there signing autographs. (especially the female elf, she's ALWAYS there) They even have a 37 Olds in the garage but it's not the original.

And yep, there's a fra-gill-ee leg lamp in my window every year. It's a major award.
