What looks like the face of a Cenobite (from the movie Hellraiser) appeared on a bar of soap in another thread which got me wondering. What`s your favorite horror flick/ horror series? I like the Evil Dead trilogy, silly and gruesomely scary all in one. The original Hellraiser is good as well as the Exorcist and the first Pumpkinhead. I know it`s hard to take any of these movies seriously, but for mindless entertainment? :happy1:

We watched 1408 lastnite, great movie.

My faves are anything by George A. Romero and Cannibal Holocaust. Im a big zombie fan and a fan of 70's and early 80's low budget gore films.

I would have to say The Blair Witch and then Salem's lot....Being a hunter and having been lost in the woods I could feel there pain...

The "Outer limits" :violent1:
Was the one that got my young mind
Know I leave the stuff allone!!![-X

"If I fall asleep and don't wake,
I pray for a four speed to pull and shack
A movie of mopars
and babes on the street
would be what I dwell on
if I don't wake...................By memike

Or was it "The House on cran apple hill.":poke:for the old guys:thumbup:

Treva said "The Birds" got her!!

"The Exorcist" Is probably my all time favorite.

Another, with a Mopar in it would be, "Phantasm" :headbang:

"The Exorcist of Emily Rose" was good also.

There was a turquoise 56 F-100 longbed pick up in The Birds, LOL. Is it sad that I remember movies by the cars that were in them?
The remake of The Hills Have Eyes was pretty cool, part 2 was friggin awful but nothing beats the original one.

I believe 360scamp could watch a flick
and see nothing els but cars in it:poke:
You sure know your car movies 360scamp:thumbup:
And quite the movie buff.:headbang:

i liked all of Rob Zombies flicks if u all get a shot at seeing the new hallowen it kicks ***!as well as all the hills have eyes.i like all the newer movies the times have made movies much better!

That thing drilling into people's heads on Phantasm always kinda' gets to me. Plus there's that 'Cuda.
I've seen "The Haunting" (1963 version) several times & know what's going to happen next all the way through it but it still raises the hair on the back of my neck. Black & white, & only a couple of special effects, but that thing uses camera tricks & works on your psyche all the way through.

I know that this dates me, but what about "The Last House on the Left"? Used to work at a drive in in the middle 70's. Saw all kinds of good crap.

Never saw a horror movie I liked unless Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstien counts :)

My wife and I love horror movies and watch all of them that we can find.....one of my favorites is the Descent....5 chicks go spelunking and find some creatures in the cave....I like movies that have a possibilty of being true more that the fake stuff but I like the fake stuff as well. If you watch or have seen the Descent the director did a Werewolf movie as well that is very good called Dog Soldiers.....IMO this guy made some great movies on a shoestring budget and needs to get some real money for another movie. Growing up Catholic the Exocist and the the prequal that tells the story of Father Merrin and his first encounter with the demon creep me out big time. I liked the Hills have Eyys but the sequel sucked ***. Another good movie is Silent Hill and Vacancy was pretty good causeit's real easy to watch Kate Beckensale walk around.

Love aliens! When Ripley leads a squad of marines to thier world and kicks ***!

Has anybody here ever seen "Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things"? Really low budget & cheesy but kinda' fun to watch. I also remember watching some cheap vampire movie where they drove a stake through the vampire's heart & killed him. Then they were talking while they stood over the dead vampire & the stake kept moving back & forth with his breathing. Can't remember what movie it was, though.

HELL YEAH, Dog Soldiers !!!!!! I forgot about that one. We bought it and watched it 2 times in a row!

360Scamp.....could you imagine how much better that movie would have been if he had a budget for special effects?

Here's an old and cheap horror flick... how about "Hotel Hell" were the farmer grows humans in the ground and makes sausage and jerky out of them. I will never forget the wheellie the his tractor does trying to pull them out of the ground.

Chuck

The Alien movies were good....no doubt about it. I don't classify them as Horror though....more Sci-Fi IMO.

No Contest, it's Alien 1!!!!!!!!!!!!

ABSOLUTELY! After I watched that movie I had nightmares for MONTHS.... Second runner up: ALIENS

By the time Alien 3 rolled around I half expected to see Freddy Kruger in it.... :sad1:

Another good one is the new remake of Amittyville Horror. Ryan Reynolds was awesome in that.
