I'm sure members here have come across some great Christmas movies that not everyone has heard about. Or perhaps a movie that isn't exactly a Christmas movie but you enjoy watching it during the Christmas holiday.

One of my all-time favorites is "Remember the Night." It's from 1940, stars Barbara Stanwyck and Fred McMurray, she's a shoplifter, he's an assistant DA, they spend Christmas together, just an outstanding movie in every way, I never get tired of it.

I'll try that one 65 if i can find it.
I dont have any less favorites. We have one that we watch every year at this time and i'm sure everyone has heard of it.
Ah yes, old Cousin Eddie and Chevy Chase. Cant type the words without laughing. Got to be a classic. I've always thought that Cousin Eddie just might be a little on the brain dead side of life. Reckon? LMAO.
You guys have a good Christmas season. From me and mine.

Watched one the other night on the hallmark channel with my wife called "A November Christmas" with Sam Elliott in it. Was a real feel good type of movie.

My non-mainstream Christmas flick has always been "The Bishop's Wife".

The original of course. I hate "remakes".

David Niven as the bishop, is exceptional. His deadpan delivery is awesome, probably one of my favourite all-time actors. Who can forget the streaker at the Academy Awards back in the 70's. :toothy10:

And then, there is Cary Grant. The epitome of suave, con-artistry with style.

Less well known? How about Christmas on Mars, brought to you by the fine gents of The Flaming Lips. I thought this review summed it up quite well:

"I just saw this movie last night. It was easily the weirdest thing I've ever seen, but once you give in to the strange (and low budget) style of the film, you might just notice that it is brilliant. One of the best films ever about mankind's need to distract itself from the crushing meaninglessness and terror that awaits those who contemplate their own nature and purpose. Doesn't hurt to watch it high either." :happy10:
