Dave ... Glad you found a fix !
Whatever you do , do not toss that pump's cap , as they're obsolete !
I had one on my '72 Dart ( which I bought in '89 ) , and its indicator stick was broken-off ( prior owner did it ) .
I cruised down to the local pick-a-part , found another cap with its stick intact , pocketed the sucker , and installed it out in their parking lot
( I knew I'd make my $1 entrance fee back :tongue1: ! ).
Unfortunately , I tossed -- literally , chucked -- the cap with the broken indicator into the Rio Hondo *ker-plunct!* .
Not much later , I found out that those caps are valuable ( D'OH!) ; that Stant ( the o.e.m.-supplier) never made 'em available to the public ; they were assembly-line-specific caps !!
So , please , keep that sucker even if its seal goes bad . Glad you found a fix for it :hello1:
