I picked up this 67 Valiant 100 2dr sedan,/6,a/c car as a bare shell and I'm slowly adding all of the missing parts from 2 67 parts cars. I noticed the PS splash shield was wrong and it was done on the assy line. It either fits a Dart or Barracuda. Have any of you found factory mismatched parts on your cars during a resto?

I'm really thinking my early build 68 Valiant came From the factory with a 67 grille and nose piece.

Very common,Working at a Dodge Dealership in the 70's,lots of odd balls came in.Human error or just don't care was the saying...

Theres a ton of documentation of the factory using last years parts, leftover from the year before! Also lots of documentation of using 2 different parts on each side of the car, such as headlight bulbs from 2 different manufacturers!!

All of the body nuts on one side of my 66 Coronet are sheet metal speed nuts.

The other side has machined nuts with captive washers.

They substitute parts when one runs out to keep the line running instead of shut it down and wait for the part to come in...

A good buddy's dad bought a new 69 Polara 500 and did not notice when he picked it up it had Polara upholstery on one bucket and Monaco upholstery on the other. He asked his dad about it after a couple of weeks later! My 69 GTS had a GT SPORT on one side and DART SWINGER on the other.

Did a 67 Dart, one side moldings had pin attachments for the clips, the other side screws. One owner car that wasn't ever wrecked or apart before.

I think by now most know I'm the valiant sedan guy around here. I found a few other oddball things on my 2 67 Signet parts cars that I have never seen on a Valiant before. These grille filler to fender supports and these bell type washers instead of the usual brackets for fender mounted turn signals. I have had and parted out MANY valiants and other cars and I have never seen these parts before.
