Flanged or Unflanged pump seàl

When looking for 904 trans front pump seal replacements, I see some with and without flanges. Which is correct or preferred. I find flanged seals easier to install. I just want to be sure it won't leak.

I thought I could add my shift kit and do all the easiest seals to replace, but found this transmission i have is going to need more than that...much more.
