You have to be careful with fasting, especially if you do it often and for long periods of time as it can cause diabetes, I'm a type 2 and I've been to the classes, talked to different doctor's and researched it. And actually skipping meals is not good either as you'll most likely over eat to make up for the meal you skip. The best thing is to cut back on your portion sizes, exercise, cut down on sweets, don't eat 2 hours before bedtime and the one that most won't like is to either cut back on or stop all together is drinking beer, beer is very fattening. Losing weight is a lifestyle change.My understanding of belly fat, the kind called Visceral Fat, which is fat glued to the organs, cannot be dieted off. Instead, you have to go into a fatburning deficit, where the body has no choice but to go after the fat that your organs are hording.
This means fasting and exercising, together.
Sixteen hours of fasting should bring your body to that threshold, if there is no other available fat for the body to pirate. So, if you're say 240 pounds, on a 180 frame, yur gunna have to get down to where the visceral fat is the last of it.
At 200 on a 180 or so frame, I daily fast from supper to supper, so say 23 hours of fasting. It's called the One-meal-a-day fast, and it works pretty good except by 2 in the afternoon I could eat an elephant; and I can't always make it, lol; but, that only sets me back just the one day, and, 2PM is afterall, 19 hours, so it's not a deal breaker as long as I don't pig-out at supper.
It's working but, I have a lot of "set-backs" lol.
