way back when, I was delivering tires and wheels for Parnelli Jones during the day and Pizza at night. I ended up quiting the pizza job then losing the tire job because of speeding tickets I got delivering pizza. One guy there was delivering in a Omni GLH and never got stopped. It was cream on beige, but went like its name implied.

For some reason your post made me think about tipping pizza deliverers which sorta goes a long way in every service industry job.
I am talking about appearance.
I think if you look clean cut, without prison pants and nose rings, tatoos, ect, chances are the tip is going to better when the customer thinks the deliverer will most likely be saving up for a better future instead of blowing their tip money on drugs and booze.

Does this look like a face of a druggie?

The local pizza place adds a delivery fee of $1.50 or $2.00. I've never known if I am still expected to tip or not. I usually still do, but do I need to?

This is exactly the problem I have.
I asked the manager (Dominoes)why I have to pay them (Dominoes) for delivery.
I stated you dont pay the drivers insurance, gas, milaege, etc.
Why am I paying you for delivery ? He had no answer.

Yes I still pay for delivery, but you can blame your employer for getting $2.00 instead of $4.00.

On the other hand,if your employer does not charge for delivery,$4 to $5 is no problem. You deserve the tip not them.

Also, please make sure your dog(s) are secured!! I had to out run one "pup" one night. I had to jump on the hood of my 73 /6 'Sport to do it!
The people had closed the door, and he came running out of the side yard! They never had a clue.
BTW, that old slant would run from 4 pm til midnight, 100 miles a night within a 5 mile radius. That was the early 80's, and no, I don't miss it!

I delivered in my 67 Barracuda. In the 70's I didn't get many tips, had a blast working at the Pizza Barn until the owner fired the manager

Yes we hate some CRAZY people order pizza's

I don't think I would want to deliver today.

I don't order delivery very often but when I did I tipped well. At my new house I have yet to find a pizza place I like.

Hey Guzzi, Back in the day when i was a surfer bum we use to get our pizza there in Huntington Beach from "Big O's". Are they still in business. This, mind you, was back in 70, 71, and 72. Man they would pile on the good stuff. Now i'm hungry.

I usually give the guy $5, whether its a $10 order or a $50 one. I figure it averages out, and his trip is the same.
