For the /6 folks

i learn more fuel, more timing, no air cleaner equals more power from the leaning tower:)

I really enjoy a stock slant. They're simple, economical, and reliable. I don't get the need to spend mountains of cash for a level of performance that could be eclipsed by a junkyard 318...

Ain't that just the truth? They just keep running.

And even though mine is far from stock, it never fails to pop right off whenever we decide to take it somewhere. It always puts a smile on my face, no matter how down I might be feeling.

i love the slant and they are reliable but some claim they are bullit proof which they are not , i seen way more windowed slants than i ever seen 6 cyl Fords or Chevs .

Nothing can run without oil or water very long. Abuse will kill anything. Slants are pretty well know for throwing the #5 rod for "whatever" the reason is. I think doing a few oil mods and running a high pressure spring in the pump helps with that.

i think the notoriety of their near unkillable status lends to people pushing them well past general service recommendations. the whole: ah, it's a slant we can skip an oil change! mentality becomes their demise.

For a small street car (with very limited traction anyway), I'd rather have a slant than any modern four, and they can fit the same vertical space with a little induction work. I like what this guy did with an mgb and a ford 200 L6 that most older folks (including myself) have thrown away. From about 13min is the test drive. Ingenuity over cash. I'm familiar with Tony's miata slant 170 auto. Crude imho and rough around the edges, but entertaining!

I watched again. I had forgotten I watched that when it came out. Certainly worth a second watch. And a third.
It was said elsewhere that they did another pull or three and broke 500HP, although I can find no videos. It wouldn't surprise me. But that video you posted....those guys acted like it was all a joke. They were less than interested, really.

Clearly them guys don't know slant sixes.

Hagerty's name's already on the blackboard for goofing off in class (super cool neat rare little-known aluminum Slant-6 engine and not a word about that; all they wanna babble about, incoherently, is the engine paint…oh, yeah, and and how the Slant-6 is a funny joke, haw haw haw. Great way to piss off old-car enthusiasts who might have been thinking about buying a Hagerty policy!).

Guess we'll go ahead and put a tally mark next to their name for this latest steaming pile, too, then, shall we?

Let them continue to make light of them. We know different. I must admit, since I've gone slant 6, I've had the most fun ever with my clothes on. They are just a hoot to drive.

Even when it turned 'decent' numbers, it sounds terrible, tuning/reversion sags & noisey.....curious if they actually dig into it to see what's up.....or just take the 300-some odd marbles they got & call it a day.

They weren't serious about it at all. It was all a joke in their eyes. Now the Engine Masters one was the real deal.

And the 1st Power Nation build was a "Meh" effort, and ran well, but the last Turbo/EFI one was full-on serious & rocked it. If Dulcich would've brought better head gaskets to the game, the EM one could've shown it's true potential, even tho' He was running a build with higher squeeze intended for optimal NA use.

That's the one. I posted the link up there ^^^ somewhere. It's a bad beeotch.

Did they ever update what became of the one that blew the head gasket? I haven't seen it if they have.

Not that I'm aware of, & now that MT TV & associated are defunct, no telling what'll become of it.

I'll Stick to my stuff that works:

Nothing wrong with boost, they are just inept and I aksed about what timing set they used, what headgasket they used on the AL engine, cams, etc. Crickets.
