I know that most guys may not respond to this thread because it isn't considered "Manly" to show signs of sensitivity, but....
Those of us that have the great fortune to have fallen in love usually remember what sent us over the edge.
She admitted that her dad owned a Liquor store.
She knew how to drive a stick shift.
She saw you spit and then hocked a loogie 3 feet past yours...
Me?
I was married once before I met my Mary. The first one was not an emotionally secure person. She often complained about how I spent so much time working and playing with my car. We split in 1993.
I met Mary in 1999. I liked her a lot and figured that I would take things at a reasonable speed and see where things went from there. In March 2000 I answered an ad for a 1970 Charger for sale. I already had a 76 Camaro, a 73 Duster, a 74 Dart Sport, a 75 Dart 4 door and my work truck.
I ended up buying the Charger and drove it home.
Mary was so sweet and supportive of the decision to buy the Charger. I told her about how it was the one car that I had wanted since I was a kid. She was solidly in my corner and I just melted.
Two days later I told her that I loved her. Several months later I painted the 73 Duster and sold it to buy an engagement ring. I painted and sold the Camaro to buy a wedding ring.
20 years have passed by since then and she is still the greatest woman that I have met. I am lucky to have her.

Many many reasons!!

Like when she bought herself a matching car and talked the guy down $1900...that was pretty cool ❤️

She unlocks my door for me after I let her in her side of the car....

Tells me to spend more money on my cars....

We finish each other’s sentences.....

She wears a vintage Plymouth jacket the MoPar show and freaks out when she sees another guy wearing the same one and just has to meet him and talk a bit and ask for a picture....these are just a few of many...I am a very lucky guy ❤️❤️❤️

I had an idea right away but when i was sure was when i took her for her first ride in the race car. Remember this is a terrible car to ride in, its not even that much fun to drive.... its hot, its loud.

So she one day mentioned she wants to go for a drive in the race car. Ofcourse i was like "hell yes". So i get her in over the cage and strapped in. I fire it off and drive her to the ice cream shop. It about 3 minutes from the house. We get ice cream, the repeat the process of helping her into the car and showing her how the 5 point harness go on and drive 3 minutes home.

I pull into the drive way and shut the car off, she looks at me and says. "Is that it? I though we were gonna go for a drive?"
:lol::lol:

Well i reached rite the hell back up, flipped the ignition and fuel pump back on and hit the star button and AWAY WE GO!

:steering::steering::steering::steering:

After that drive she mentioned that she cant see over hood. So i cut the seat out of the car, rebuilt the passenger seat mount and moved the seat up 5 inches. Now no normal sized person can sit in the passenger seat but it fits her just right.

Our 3 year, took her on a surfing vacation.

I had a few to many at dinner and on the way out of a VERRY fancy restaurant i tried to pick thise 2 flowers she is holding and ripped the entire plant out of the ground...

Later i took her to rally driving school.
She loved it!

Im 6'1" and she is almot 5' so in all our pics i have to slouch to get both oir faces in frame.

The turning point for me was probably the point when she sprung for a set of Comp Pro Magnum rockers for a 360 project I was workin on while we were dating. She knew I needed "rocker things" and called Summit and asked what the "best" was they had in stock. Two days later they were at the door.

That's sweet thanks for sharing! Do you still have the 70 charger?
Me and my wife was love at first sight almost. She started working at foodlion where I worked. And I remember seeing her in the breakroom all by herself and I thought damn she is hot. So I walked in set down and started talking to her. Then we hung out a couple times in the parking lot after work I used the excuse of "working" on her car lol she knew I like to work on cars and would always tell me something was broke and I would try to fix it for here lol. We had our first real date a few months later and she kissed me and I fell head over heels for her. I told her I loved her on our first date! Haha That was 18 years ago and we are still together all these years later! Now we have 3 kids and have been married for 15 years!

When she insisted she help me assemble my engine, finished my instructions on what to do, knew the torque specs, and finished the car with me.

I thought it was awesome he would come to my apartment when we were dating and clean it during the seasons rush of work and long hours and purchasing me tools I needed, but watching her stand in the hoist and rocking the engine to get it in grease covered.... ahhhh, yea! I’m good with that ****!

Some of the best times was when she would out drive the guys slamming the Pistol Grip burning rubber in 3 gears putting more than a few guys on notice and to shame, OH hell yea, Ma’am can drive.

I was in Guatemala on vacation in a city I wasnt supposed to be in, at a church I wasnt supposed to be in the day I met her. They were doing a medical outreach and the Pastor asked her to do a dance that went along with his message. When I saw her dance I saw her heart and was done. Hook, line and sinker. Shes beautiful inside and out. I'm blessed beyond measure.

I'd been married before and wasn't really looking for anyone. She was someone I knew, we'd talked before, just someone I knew. I was out with buddies one night and she was out with friends. She asked me out to dance and the rest is history. Everyone has that one soulmate in the world meant for you to be with. We agree we're that match. She is a believer and feels we know each other from a previous lifetime...wow!!
She loves cars and car shows. With our two cars I simple explain what and why we need something, and she says buy it if we need it. She's just as excited as I am to open the parts package when it comes. She'll go to the car shows and talk cars with the old guys, and the old guys like talking to her too. We took a honeymoon to San Diego. We were driving through an area, they were having a huge car show. As we passed she's saying stop, stop, stop. Our 17th anniversary is coming up in a couple weeks, on a weekend. She wants to go to a car show. I am one lucky guy!!

When we were dating somewhere along the way I said something about a 72 duster I had. She could tell I was a little enthused about talking about it and asked to see a picture. I told her I'd always wanted a 4-speed and even though that car had a great automatic it was something that none of my hot rods never seem to have...
At that time it was Winter and I'm heavily into snowmobiles and still am to this day and she said why don't you look around and see if you can find yourself a project car? So I poke around Craigslist for a few weeks. I showed her some of the reasonable projects. The next day she hands me an envelope with $2500! Says get what you want... (Strike-one). I find the duster over two hours away. We drive there, make the deal, go rent a truck and trailer load up and she follows me home. I tell her it's an automatic and she says it's going to be "a four on the floor right?" (Strike-two)
A week later I find a 4 speed three and a half hours away off near Seattle. I had to work and she drove up and got the 4-speed for me... (STRIKE-3!)
Okay now I'm figuring I need to keep this one around for awhile and see what happens...
I asked her to marry me at the hospital. We've been dating for a couple of years and knew each other for a few years before as well. She was in the hospital for another knee surgery and the thought of loosing her to one of these surgery's... Anyways she said YES...
Last night in the garage she patiently and very interested as I explained how all of the internals work in a V8. She has a degree in engineering, she gets it...
We enjoy spending time with each other...
We were also talking about snowmobiling yesterday and she was hoping for lots of early snow this year.. She got my usual response,
"I think I'm going to have to keep you around for a while..."

I already thought she had a nice rear end and headlights in college.
Later when I gave her a counter top stove kitchen appliance because her apartment charged her for gas but not electric........
And she appreciated it.

I always like it when the kids ask us he we knew we were right fir each other
she always goes first "I knew within seconds I was going to marry him, of course, I couldn't tell him this or he would have thought I was crazy"

then they ask me, when did you know dad?
and I say, son, as soon as I'm sure, im gonna propose to her

we've been married for 15 years now

I saw her across the floor at a factory job I had taken in 1985. Somehow I just knew. Our first date was in February we moved in together in March and were married in September. I'm one of those lucky people who can literally say it was love at first sight.

IDK...we met in High School, dated for 4 years, lived together for 3 years, we have been married for 33 years have a beautiful 14 year old daughter.

But I’m still not sure she is “the one”...and I’m running out of time to figure it out!

Long story short. She is the Widow of a very good friend who died way too soon. My first Wife and I and Ray and my present Wife all hung out together.I always kinda had the hot's for her but out of respect to my friend tucked that away in my mind. Was a pallbearer at his funeral and we both went our separate ways. 4 years later( with me now divorced) we ran across each other at a popular Cowboy Bar and had a few drinks and visited. Went to get something to eat and visited more. She called me the next day and told me how much she enjoyed the night before. We have been together for 37 Years now. I am a Happy Man.

I was lucky in the extreme to find my wife. It happened late as it took me a while to find someone I could stand to be around on a regular basis. We married at 35. A magnificent woman, taken all too soon by cancer. Two years later I decide I'm willing to dip a toe into the dating game again. A friend says she has another friend, that I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO MEET. The friend is a bit of a screwball, so I'm thinking this could pretty easily go sideways. However, the stars aligned, and I hit the lottery for a second time. Nancy is the other half of me I never knew I was missing till I met her. Fun, smart, a perfect match, and shares my wicked sense of humor. I am the luckiest guy on the planet.

When did I know she was the one? About at our second date. We went from strangers to (figuratively) married in no time flat. No doubts, no questions, no second thoughts.

First date was an evening sail on my buddy's boat with a few guys from work - I left her with the guys with a "Jenn, these are the guys...guys, this is Jenn" and went up to the mast to help rig the boat...I was busy ignoring her (previous girlfriend had been very clingy) - my buddy says, "Dude...you're in trouble" and points to the stern - she's holding court with the guys and they're having a blast. After the sail, took her to dinner...not only did she NOT order the lobster or surf-n-turf, but...when her food arrived, she actually ate it, instead of pushing it around on the plate and saying "I'm not hungry" (being skinny was super important in the 80s - do young ladies eat on dates now?) We went to the beach and sat on a lifeguard tower and talked for hours...about 11:00 or so, a thought crossed my mind - "She just might be the one..." we went out for another year and a half or so before I would admit I was right about her on our first date. 31+ years later, still going strong! Here's a shot - same boat, but a year or so after our first date.
