I found a white 2dr valiant 200 3 pedal shift on the column almost perfect body.. no dents or rust through, good glass and looks to be insurable.

my question is this. do you think its worth 1450.00 cnd?
and does anyone own one? that can help me out if i did get it?

more importantly will my 360 fit? lol

Cerwin, look at my Car Domain site. Mine's a 1966 Valiant Signet, 360 engine. Now, what to look out for, not that it makes a big difference, but there is a definite difference between the CDN and US modela of Valiant in 1966. Mine is actually a CDN model, which is built on the 66 Dart GT with the Valiant badging and chrome. The US model has narrow upright taillights and a totally different front grille. What engine is in the car right now, or what was the original engine? The 6 cyl and V8 used the same K-member in 66 so a V8 is easily dooable. The only hard to find parts for a 6 to V8 swap are the exhaust manifolds.

Is it worth $1450.00 CDN? Get me the serial number off the tag on the driver's side front door post and I'll decode it for you. Is it a 2 dr post or hardtop? PICTURES.... PICTURES!! :)

ok dokie..

Done and Done.. i just saw the car sitting there and thought i would jump on it mind you it appears to have ben sitting for a while. so i left a message..

how do you pop a 66 hood? and it looks like this one..just in a 2door adn i didnt notice if it was post

That one looks like it's a 65. At least it has the 65 grille and headlight rings, but the bumper looks like a 66 model. My eyes aren't that good any more, especially with a black? car. :) To pop the hood, there's a little lever between the grille bars which opens it to the first latch, then feel under the front edge of the hood, slightly to left but almost center, and there's a little lever you need to pull down with the tip of your finger. Clear as mud? :) I'll see if I can find you a picture.

super. the one i found has the same grill, same bumper said valiant200 on the fender.. had the emblem i know.. wierd

i cant find pictures of a 2 door.. 66

Ok, not too sure about the Valiant up your way. But it does look like a 66 USA Valiant othere than the grill. Looks more like one for down under. And Oldvart your 66 Valiant looks like my 66 Dart.

Clear as mud !! I like that,Sid, :blob:
Hope Cerwin find's what you need, :thumblef: :drinkers:

my spelling aint quit good. :glasses3: :drinkers:

It's got British Columbia license plates, I think it's a Canadian made version that looks like a US made Dart, right?

Here's a quote from an article on the subject I saved from a newspaper many years ago, all about Canadian/US differences. I posted the whole article here a while back, for everyone to read if you're interested -> http://www.enbcom.com/board/messages/394/393.html

"After fielding 15 different models in 1965, Valiant cut back to 10 for
1966. Instead of producing both Valiant and Dart models, Chrysler Canada
built just the Dart, but still tacked the Valiant name on it for us Canucks.

The reason for this peculiar change had to do with the year-old Canada-US
Auto Pact. Chrysler's Windsor factory was now building Dodge Darts for
duty-free export to the United States.

So it was simpler and cheaper to make Darts only for Canadians too. The
Valiant name was well-known and respected in Canada, but most of did not
know anything about the Dart as a compact car. "

The white car is a Canadian '66 Valiant....the model could be either 200 or Signet...and judging by the lack of chrome moldings and such,I would guess 200.

As to price, we'd have to have a lot more info to determine that.

PS...below is a '66 Cdn Valiant Signet....

its a 66 valiant 200
he wants 1450.00 CND
and he is willing to go down to 1200.00 for me
it has all teh original parts.. engine trans and rear, it comes with the original bill of sale and he is currently the third owner. was purchased originally in naniamo and he is only selling it because he has 3 other cars and has no where to store it.. he would like to see it restored to look realy nice. says the car cleans up really nice and runs like a dream.. ran last month before last and asked me if i would like to take her for a test drive tomorrow, which is now today..03/14/06.. so im goig to. and im going to take interior pics.. its 225.. 3 on the tree and 7 1/4 rear i would saefly assume being original, if im wrong feel free to correct, seems like a nice fella who wants to see her happy and loved again, he already turned down 2 others because he found out they had mopars already and hed rather give it to someone like i said who will take care of her and bring her back to life.

Ill fill you in more tonight..
have a good day mopar lads

dartcuda: In 66 the CDN version of the Valiant was built on the 66 Dart model with the Valiant trim and nameplates added. If you check the VIN tag on the door post of these cars, you'll find the VIN starts something like LP23Dxxx, and if you decode that it's a Dart. The US built 66 Valiant was a completely different vehicle with different front end, taillights, and if I recall correctly, the wheelbase on the US Valiant models was about 2 inches shorter than the CDN model. And the car that Cerwin is looking at is indeed a 1966 CDN Valiant. O.K. I'm out of knowledge now. :)

Sid you hit it on the head, and I have seen an artical on these canadian bilt dart's sharing Valiant badges, the K frame is ready for a small block :thumblef:
