I am looking for front bumper for a 66 Dart GT, am having a bi#*h of a time finding one. Is there a resource that does replacements? Any suggestions on searching boneyards in Cali? I am considering using a 63 or 64 bumper as they are slimmer and I think would look good, this is a loose resto mod type build. Any help would be appreciated. Hambony.

I can't help you as far as searching junkyards in CA.

I was thinking of using a an earlier bumper on my 65 Dart wagon. I ended up buying a used, straight 63 Valiant bumper and the bumper brackets from member Waggin. The 63 Valiant bumper is nice and thin and thought it would look good on the Dart plus it already had the holes for the bumper guards, which I wanted (never did find the bumper guards for a 63 Valiant!). I needed to modify the bumper brackets a little to fit the Dart front clip. That was the plan until I decided to part out my 65 Dart convertible and use what parts from the convertible on the wagon - like the re-chromed front bumper and NOS parking light assemblies I have.

If you're interested in the 63 bumper and brackets, let me know as I will not be using them now.

I'm not sure about the fitment, but it might work. Depends on if the curvature of the fenders is the same. I think it would look pretty good.

You'll have to figure out something for turn signals if you switch to a '63 or '64 front bumper. '65 and '66 front valences have the holes where the earlier turn signals mount to, but the holes don't have the little nubs that the housings screw into. Easy enough to weld on a little metal, I guess.

Thanks gents, Dartman, I would like to open a dialogue about grabbing some parts off the one your parting out. Since I am new, I don't know how to respond or correspond to just one member. If the bumper is in ok condition ( not bent, rust or small dents ok) I would be interested once I make a last conserted effort to source on the left coast. Need other stuff that would ship easier, let's talk. Hambony.

Do you have any pictures with the valiant bumper on the 65 dart. I have been thinking of changing my front number as well. I might be interested in it .

Unfortunately I don't. I did not want to start tearing apart the wagon until I was able to get it inside. So I was using the 65 Dart convertible to mock up the bumper and the bumper brackets. Since I decided to part the 'vert out, I removed the bumper/brackets and finished removing the valance and other front end parts.

Your title says 65 and post #1 says 66 (might interchange). At a local Mopar show a year or two ago, there was a chrome plating shop from the LA area. They had a re-chromed 65 bumper (front, I recall) for ~$250. I recall that was an exchange price. I ended up buying a nice used bumper for $30 or so. I filed away their card somewhere. I'll post if I run across it.

the bumperboyz, somewhere in Ca. they used to always be at Nats, back then(10-12 yrs since I was there last! LOL) they gave $75 for a core..... quality must of o k or they wouldn't have been there every year?
