I am trying to find a needle and gasket for the fuel inlet but having a difficult time with parts stores finding the part. Does anybody have any suggestions? The carb is either a BBD-3472s or BBD -3473s. Found out after gas was coming from the float pole vent valve. Appreciate it.

You may fix it with a needle and seat or you may not. I would suggest a kit and double check the float when you have it apart.

Check out Mike's Carburetor Parts. That's where I found one for mine.

First off, are you sure it is a BBD, and not a BBS? I can see enough from the picture. How many bolts hold the carb to the intake? 2 bolts=BBS, 4 bolts =BBD. What year engine, stick or auto? Does the carb have a throttle cable, or the "twisty" linkage. Twisty linkage was used till 1966, and that is what I think I see.

Get a complete kit — a good one (parts store items no longer qualify as such) from Jon Hargrove at thecarburetorshop.com . He also has just the inlet needle/seat/gasket. Speaking of that gasket, though, a smart upgrade is to replace the fibre gasket with a rubber-coated aluminum one, which was the subject of a technical service bulletin. See here.

Carburetor operation and repair manuals and links to training movies and carb repair/modification threads are posted here for free download.
