Will this work?
A guy's got a 69 Dart tank for sale for $50.
Will it fit on my 73 Duster?
Judging from the look of my fairly new fuel filter, it's probably pretty gross in there.

In my opinion it isn't worth even trying you can buy a new tank for 175-200 and be done with it. If he has a used 69 tank chances are its junk also.

I wouldn't think it will interchange. Go with a new one.

Get a new one, that one is banged up pretty bad.
You won't regret it.......

I bought a brand new one from ebay for 119.00 shipped. I would also put a new sending unit in at the same time, but that's me. They can be bought for under $50.00 shipped.

When replacing a gas tank, should I replace everything at the same time?
(gaskets, filler neck, sender, etc)

Tank will fit but filler neck hole is at a different location. So no it won't work. Trust me.

I would change the sending unit and filler neck grommet the neck is probably good. Check the straps and see if you can reuse them. Rock auto has a tank for 122

Keep your sending unit lock ring the aftermarket ones do not always seal.
