I had a colleague once who was going in for exploratory surgery the following day. He had to drink a Barium Meal.
He told everyone at work about it and said he hated German food.

He was the only one who didn't laugh.

I’ve heard this before. BMW says the logo is derived from the appearance of a spinning airplane propeller (a nod to their history).

According to BMW, the name is an acronym derived from the company name.

Yes, it's an akronym, but it stands for:

Bayerische Motoren Werke

...Bavarian Engines Factory...

The logo is blue-white, because of the bavarian national colours and it represents a stylized aircraft propeller, because they built in the beginning only aircraft engines.
