What a lot of people dont know is that BMW is actually an acronym in german
(Makes sense, since its a german car, right?)

The letters actually stand for "Blau Mitt Weiss"

Which literally translates to "Blue And White"

A quick glance at BMWs logo will explain how factual this is
Bayerische Motoren Werke. Bavarian Motor Works. They built aero engines initially and the blue white symbol represents a spinning propeller.

Sorry for the redundancy, I later noticed others had already addressed it.

Not an acronym but one of my favorite sayings has been, "On a quiet night you can hear a Ford rust".

One from over the pond:
Lotus. Lots of trouble, usually serious.

And for Lucas, who made most of the electrical gear back in the day:
Loose unsoldered connectors and splices.

One I can say I agree with is GTO
I have had two, I think it was my 3rd car, ohhh it had power, but had everything on it I should have changed to mopar or Chebby.... I put 3 pumps on, heck it may have been something besides the pump that did not last over 300 miles, may have got bad remam PSPumps changing it was a pain, oh wait!! Two Alternators that never let me know till it threw a red light on the dash :BangHead: :BangHead:
And we all know at 15 years old up in corn country it was 60 miles to the closest that had one, and I remember getting sold two wrong starters and drove 180 miles in two days changing them and had to borrow my mom's truck.

Yep, 63 Grand Pix. 389 Pontiac..
GETTING THE TOOLS OUT was true on this car, I didn't own my Catalina very long, drove me to Plant City Florida with out a hitch, but she loved gas , same motor if I remember right ?
1968.

POS- Self explanatory

Runsoni-Runs only if you push it...

not an acronym but humming the Sanford and son theme song when someone pulled up in a POS was always a favorite...

Not an acronym but a funny story instead... close to thirty years ago I had an auto repair business, a friend called & asked if he could have his Mustang towed in.... When it arrived the stereo was cranked... He'd had the tow truck operator stop the truck around the corner so he could turn it on/up... What was playing???
