I have seen a taper like that used in some small block Chevys. A very slight taper seemed like a good idea but that one looks excessive. The top ring land would have to be huge, the ring would have to be way down on the piston to avoid trouble.

I was working with a small crew about 4 of us, I guess they were all mid 30`s. None of them ever heard of the concord or sst`s
I witnessed one take off when on a jobsite from Dulles, my God those things were LOUD!

Was standing on the 6th floor of an apartment block, building an elevator shaft. Wide open floor. That was the day the twin towers got hit. Six F18 Hornets in formation banked over to the north and headed south straight over us. Must have been WFO you could hardly turn your head that fast and they were gone. What an ear shattering boom.

The intake valve relief cuts they sometimes make are pretty similar in depth. Maybe even deeper.

Yes, I think they were like that even in the stock configuraton. But don't forget, they were designed very oddly, with the combustion chamber inside the cylinder bores.

I had a similar experience with a lengthy job interview. Chick with a boob job interviewed after me. Her Boyfriend was there in the lobby holding her hand before the interview. I never got the job.
They called 3 months later asking if I would be interested in the job.
"You hire a chick with a boob job over a guy with 15 years experience, you call me when it doesn't work out and seriously expect me to want to work for an employer who hired a Chick with big Tits over me?"
All of a sudden CRICKETS...then I hung up.
