Gas price rant, (what are you paying)???

-
I hate to say this we are paying $3.19 for gas right now. We are waiting for the bottom to drop and see a big jump in price. But if we can keep the demand low the price will drop a few cents more.

I guess the real answere to high gas prices is not to buy it or use it at all. It's so ingrained into our daily lives. We get up in the morning ,our houses are heated by natural gas here in B.C so right away I am using petroleum products.

Alternative energy sources are coming along. I really like the idea of instantly getting 600 ft/lbs of torque from an electric motor! What a neck snapper that must be..I'll have to start buying neck braces, lol.

North America is sitting on a huge Nat. gas bubble, nat gas is at all time low price, less than $2.00/ gal equivilant, ..and is the way of the future, imho.

You guys with big Ford trucks should check out the nat gas conversions avail.. they take an afternoon to install..

If someone can make an engine run on nat. gas, the ways Audi got the diesels to run(and banned for too much power, I believe).. that'd be a gass... lol.

A lot of the new big trucks being built, are for nat gas,, and a dude named Boone Pickens is putting Nat gas at all Pilot/Flying J. fueling stops..

My motorhome holds 70 gals.. so, I dooo feel the pain as well....

YepI've seen a few electric powered drag vehicles, and I'm fair convinced they are a good idea,if you can keep em charged long enough. Battery weight is really limiting if you want to drag,so expensive lithium cells would have to be part of the design.

Not a budget minded project I'm thinking. At least the initial cash outlay would be fairly large, but then after that there are very few moving parts in an electric motor. Hard use may mean the batt's need replaced every season or maybe more, less depending.

I did see a silly electric drag car Top Gear T.V show made out of a Gee whiz. It beat a porsche, maybe the same thing you saw? They had to upgrade the motor and battery, tires etc.
