Does anyone know a way to upgrade or modify the fuel neck on a 1972 Dodge Dart to prevent fuel spill when fueling? Newer cars have a small diameter that fit the gas station pump nozzles

Thats a hell of an idea, I usually just use a rag, but those old socks could come in handyThat's what that bag of hole filled socks is for. Stuff it around the filler neck and it will click off properly, then throw the sock in their garbage can!
Restrictor plate in the fill tube?I have what I believe is a 100% fix for it. I plan on posting how I did it when I get it done to Vixen. Gonna be a little while though.
Nope. I've seen those, but I've read that's not a 100% fix.Restrictor plate in the fill tube?
Been considering that myself.
I like this idea, especially the spill tray. But I still need the trunk space. Do you think I could stuff a 2 inch coupler pipe into the tank grommet and use fuel resistant hose to adapt a fuel neck from a newer model? This is for a F-350.with CA pumps you can't let them run automatically or hands free. pull theforeskinvapor boot back get the spout in with a little english on it and pump slow.
or be prepared to go full tilt. no half stepping.

IF i was going to do this, i'd leave the stock fill tube in the tank-- the whole gasket/tube thing is a ball ache, so best to avoid disturbing that.I like this idea, especially the spill tray. That's the meat and taters right there. That's the whole ball of wax. They simply need to be vented better. That'd solve the whole thAng.but here's the deal, modern cars fill smooth because of the interface of the cap lock, nozzle and vapor sleeve as well as the fact that modern tanks are vented much, much better than our old crap cans.
My 63 Valiant was a ***** to fuel. For me completely flip the nozzle up side down. Worked for me.Best bet is to hold the pump nozzle sideways, pump slow
Trust me, all you need is a sock... I don't blow gas down the quarter panel of this..
