72 340, going to be running a 69 forged crank with 4 speed.
Larry Shepard recommend the Fluidamper harmonic balancer, but $500.00...YIKES! Can any recommend a little more economical performance balancer (stock pulleys and V-belts) that will stand up to an occasional flogging and 3-400HP?
Thanks

There is a REASON why Chrysler picked that dampener. More than anyone else, Chrysler understood the limits of elastomer style dampers.

The only real value they have is they are cheaper to manufacture. And most people who have the capabilities to produce racing engines rework the ATI stuff. What you get isn't what "other" people get.

It's your money. Both expensive and cheap have examples of working great In the intended application. For those that used them in the wrong app, they failed , worked great , or just cost way more than necessary.

I ran a factory damper on my 450 or so HP 340.
