Guy was having troubles and wanted to part with his car. It was the rare occasion for me I was in the right place at the right time.

1967 Barracuda Notch, car has new 360 engine, 4-speed conversion trans was just gone through. new drive shaft, 8-3/4 just gone through with 3.23's.

Car is a factory non formula-s 273 HiPo E-code car. floors are rust free body work appears done. only problems I see are the interior is apart and the buckets are gone. And the truck was cut out and a flat panel was installed for a fuel cell. And the doors are shaved of door handles and locks (easy fix). Came with fender tag and certicard all numbers sans engine trans match.

I say bring it back to the white with red interior. It sure would be one pretty ride!

looks like he was going go-mango for body color. Must have been a chebby guy painted the engine comp black.

I just noticed with the shaving the guy did on the car he left the resonator cutout alone (probably didn't even know it was there!

I will be going white on the body. All the vinyl trim is missing so probably will not add a top. But agreed it would look neat!
The back seat was just redone in black, correct for 67. The door panels and the rest are black now. so... I might just keep it black.

Oh yeah already started on it.

I have the headliner and window gaskets on the way. I have a full uncut wiring harness, gauge cluster and many other parts left over from the fastback resto.
Car came with aluminum radiator and a fresh re-cored factory one. It has the later model aluminum water pump in it. I got a new cast water pump yesterday to convert back so I can use the factory radiator.

I am hoping to have the drive train and brakes complete and self propelled by this weekend, hopefully done by march. I don't think I am going to be able to keep this one though. I just couldn't stand to see a clean, rust free commando car get parted out.

Congratulations Rocky :blob:
being at the right place at the right time for the seller and you :D
Know the Barracuda will liv a long life and make another person happy.
when I first seen this car at the top of the page the first thing that hit
me was ..is this the 67 that was here in Arkansas about 4 years ago :coffee2:
same color code and red int, but it was a slant 6 car..
Enjoy and keep us updated :coffee2: Very cool A indeed :burnout:

Nice score. I might be interested in buy or trade for certain red interior pieces.

Well an late update. I got the brakes completed front K/H disc. The transmission is all hooked up and adjusted and got the engine started and broke in! sounds great and moves and stops. the exhaust is a home made system with no mufflers so it is pretty loud for now.

I got the dash frame back from powder coated. The dash bezel repainted, lenses polished and gauges rebuilt. I had a bezel cut out for a radio so I re-did that one to use a Din stereo. And found a good black 67 dash pad.

I found a black steering wheel that looked like a dog chew toy, but had zero cracks in it. I used a dremmel to clean up the chew marks and contours then used 1500 to smooth it out. It came out great, but still need to buff it to a shine.

That's great John! **** man you don't waste any time! Looks great! Now I think you should sell me the motor out of your Fastback really cheap so I can shred tires like in your video! lol..

Looks great John and like CC said you arent wasting any time! Dash looks amazing!! How much was the dash frame to get powdercoated??

Steve about $100 wasn't bad.

i'm deep into the body work now and will update picture today on that. I pulled the front clip to do each part and cut in properly to get rid of the orange. hopefully i will be able to spray color in a couple weeks. I found near perfect doors to use since he welded up the locks and handles and distorted them badly while doing so.

here are more updated pic's. funny I have found no rust in this car at all only some light pitting in the lower window corners on the dutchman. fenders, rockers and floorboards are all cherry. there was some lower rear q-pnl work done to it. the trunk was cut out and a plate put in as he was installing a fuel cell, but from what I understand he sold the piece he cut out and it was not rusty either.

Shame, he ruined the doors when he shaved and welded up the doors. probably salvageable but the metal is so distorted from heat I am not going to mess with them. Not worth the effort in the area where they are.

I was hoping for more of a sand and shoot when I bought it. But after inspecting some of the prior prep work it turned into a disassemble and strip. At least there is no rust work to do and very little mud in the car!
The new doors I got for it must have been from the country after stripping them I only found a total of 6 small door dings between them. Damned OCD in me. Almost seems a shame to paint it white now.
I think it is going to be hard to part with this car when I am done. But I have a 67 formula-s 383 Fastback waiting in the wings for it's day.
