grandma demon back on ebay

Whats your time worth? Time is money.
I'm not trying to prolong this debate, but mechanical stuff usually isn't all that time consuming if you plan the swap out.

Dropping in a BB as compared to a SB or even replacing the /6 after a refresh isn't all that different. Again - as long as you plan your steps and know about what you might encounter.

whatever - agree to disagree. I wouldn't buy that car fo the price regardless of my intentions with the engine.

IMO that car is worth $8k to a person that wants to step into "classic cars" with a daily driver. Someone who is looking to NOT get in over their head. Most of us here are "jump off the cliff and worry about what happens next when it happens" kind of people. If we werent our cars would probably be in a junkyard. Honestly, how many people looked at what you bought at the start and said "WOW, thats an awesome car"? We do this because we have a passion for it. That car wont ever end up here as a members vehicle because the person that buys it is getting it for what it is. Not what it "could be". I bet almost everyone 1 of us bought our cars for what they could be in our eyes. Just a thought.

only if its not a basket case under that repaint. pictures can hide allot.

I can't believe his grandma story for the simple fact no grandma I know would have a car with manual steering and manual trans,

don't be too sure about that. a friend bought a blue duster twister from an old lady (original owner) years ago and it was a 318,3 speed and manual steering car. things were different back then. women actually drove cars with a clutch and manual steering and brakes without a/c.

I'd consider buying it if I didn't have my Valiant. When you add up the cost of a resto, $8K pales in comparison. I guess you'd just have to be reasonably certain you're not buying something that's a basket case with nice paint. Doesn't seem like it to me, maybe I'm naive? When was the last time you saw a Demon in presumably good shape that was reasonably priced?

Let's say you found a car and it was cheap but 'needed work'. I can't imagine a dun-rite paint job costing less than $5K, plus the initial purchase of a decent body which could be anywhere between 2,500 and 4,000. A new interior for that car would set you back plenty too. IMO you'd be WAY over 8 before you started. If you were willing to accept it as is, you'd be ahead of the game. You're better off just paying a little more at the start and making it how you want it. Again, maybe I'm naive, but I think it's an OK deal. I bet the reserve is $7,500.

I think you'd have a bitchin' car for around $15K with a new driveline.

Seller ended the listing early.....

Somebody out there had a vision for the little /6 Demon. Hopefully, it's found a good home.
