Any one know what kind of grease was used in the turn signal lever switch? The stuff in there is pretty old and thick. I thought I would get out what I could and replace what I could. I wasn't sure if it had to be electrical type?

It always looked like wheel bearing grease to me. I ain't ever seen any that was clear like dielectric grease.....but then maybe it's cause it's old and dirty.

I would say a very small amount of dielectric lubricant or lithium grease.
Too much of anything will only collect more debris.
OEM was a butter colored grease.
Shale oil based grease will arc and burn to carbon.

It's been at least 20 years since I was "into" a signal switch, but the grease I remember had a brownish tint and very easily could have been dielectric. It is not all clear.

I'm sure that some bearing greases (I'm not a chemist, and don't play one on TV) are not desirable on electrical contacts, flammable, etc.

not sure what it was but dielectric would probably be an upgrade.
