has anyone ever had any probs with greyhound shipping ?I sold a man a hood 3 months ago . and by their records it was checked in at the location . He did not go to pick it up for a couple weeks . Then when he did get there they cant find it. they say it was never signed for or picked up but they dont know were it is . has anyone ever delt with their claims dept before? I have already had to give him back his money. now i just want my hood back. I dont know if he is a member here. if he is im not mad at him. thanks

I can't help but wonder how they could "lose" a hood............

It IS slightly bigger than a breadbox..................Sounds like someone got it before the buyer did.

thats my thoughts to someone stole it if they did they got a 68 bulge hood and prob dont even know what it is

Hey Jeff, Ive always wondered how claims are handled by Greyhound seeing as their area of expertise is shipping people not merchandise. IMO you deserve a pat on the back for sending the buyer their money back and not taking stance that they were part of the problem for waiting so long to go and get the hood. Im sure that a lot of people would have made them wait until the whole thing was worked out with Greyhound. Very classy, good job!! And good luck getting things straightened around!

well i guess im going to find out about the claims dept. Ill let everyone on here know what i think about greyhounds shipping. when i dropped off the place was dedicated to shippng packages so i wasnt scared.

I have always had nothing but great service from them. But you did and thats too bad, sounds like a theft to me, but I am also surprised they held it for two weeks when it wasn't picked up. If it was insured I guess you are about to see how good their claims department is, good luck!

Regardless of whether it was insured or not, if they don;t have a release signature from the recipient, it's clear that they lost the item - I would think they would be liable regardless of insurance.

I have shipped with Greyhound a few times now with no problems... Will be interesting to see how a claim with them is dealt with just in case. Hope it all works out for you.

Well fellas maybe we should keep an eye out for a Greyhound bus sporting a power bulge hood mounted to the front? More performance!

Regardless that sucks and I hope they don't drag it out for a long time like most places like to do. And make sure you keep on them till they take care of their problem.

I have only used gray hound for transportation when I was a young'an.
dartcuda sent me a very nice fender though them and was a peace of cake.

I can say that they are responsible for the hood. So keep on them.
I hope everything works out, and good job taking care of your customer

I hope they have a clause that if a package is not picked up it should go back to sender. If not report it and get your money they are responsible
for loosing your hood.

A guy shipped me some seats through GH not long ago, and when I showed up to pick them up, it was a disorganized mess. The guy said that they hadn't received my package, even though they had called me to tell me they were in. Anyway, after he got his confusion straightened out, he took me out to a shed like they sell at Home Depot, with a padlock on the door, and got my seats out. It's in a pretty scummy neighborhood. I'm glad I got them right away, because the security is not the best.

I'm sure it varies by location.

WEEKS?

His loss. Let HIM deal with the bus company. He's an idiot for leaving it there that long. Bus company are idiots for letting something happen to it/doing something with it because he didn't come get it. But as a business I'm sure they wanted it out of their way.

I have used GH a few times and it has worked out pretty well. A partial floor pan was temporarily lost because the recipient didn't pick it up for almost a month. It was sent from CA to Niagara Falls, NY and when it wasn't picked up, they sent it to a holding facility in TX. That's when all the confusion happened. Long story short: It was sent back to me in CA but I never picked it up. I went to the station, verified the piece and let the buyer pay the shipping again because he was slow to pick it up.

texas is were i was told stuff ends up they say they cant find it either. bulge hood on a greyhound bus that made me laugh even know all the aggravation it put on me . thanks you guys i will keep calling them over and over till they hate me

I have been on the short end of the stick with Greyhound. I bought some body parts from across the country (fenders, doors) and oddly the two parts that the guy simply rolled up in cardboard made the trip without incident. The part that was wrapped in cardboard and then boxed was trashed. The seller and I got together and I filed a claim. We provided pictures pre and post shipping and the lady at the depot here was very helpful with helping me submit everything. To cut to the chase, the claim was denied and I appealed it. Once again denied. I will never use them again! What is the purpose of buying insurance for an item if they won`t honor a claim when something gets damaged?

Texas huh...............

I could use a bulge hood for the Sedan

WHERE in Texas did you say????????????????

Sometimes I do a layover in Hayward, CA which isn't the greatest area, the ticket office is about as big as a walk-in closet and stuff sits outside during business hours where anyone can snatch it. Best bet is to meet the bus when it gets in.

That's the terminal I use and let me tell you, there's some scary sh*t happening around there. it might as well be in the heart of Oakland. I've been standing there when there's been blatant drug deals with cars pulling up and guys leaning in and handing off & good-sized fights over turf, etc. The interesting thing is that the cops just drive or walk by and watch this stuff and keep on going. It makes me feel pretty damn safe. The last couple of times, I took the dogs with me (which works pretty well) because those folks don't like dogs (unless it's their own pitbulls).

Yep gang central, I change buses there between Santa Cruz and Modesto.
