I Ran across a intresting car in an old issue of MM or HPM i cant remember, but anyway, The Had an article on a Hang 10 Version of a Dart. I think it had a 360 in it. Has anyone ever seen one of these cars?

I remember that article too, I think it was quite awhile back in MM. But I haven't ever seen one in person. I may still have the article.

Yea i have the issue here. I Know that they are Rare.

There was one of those cars in the wrecking yard several years back smashed up real good. I have still have the special seats out of that car. There is also one running around Niagara right now...

Fold down seat option was quite cool....

Actually, there is one here in Arlington. Owned by some high school kid who's grandparents bought it for him (for getting good grades).

Ever inquisitive, I pulled up to talk to him and get the low down on it.

His was a 318/904....VERY CLEAN..even had the original orange shag carpet (yes......SHAG).

Someone had done some work to it: 650 Edelbrock with a Perfromer intake, headman headers, etc. He said the kids at school are all jealous 'cause they all have 4 bangers (even the ricer crowd envied his mean American muscle).

Check mine out on the album and 2004 car show. Found it in a starage yard in CO. Took about a year to restore. Yes orange SHAG carpet and funky
red white and blue seat trim. It was a Dart Sport with the "Hang 10" trim.
I did mine over the way I wanted it. ( 360 435HP/420ft/lbs 727 8 3/4 3:55
Edlebrock alum heads 770 Holley Strip Dominator intake TTI etc. etc.) :sunny: :sunny: [/list]

That Hang 10 Dart is pretty cool I 've never seen one before.
I went to school with a guy that had a ' 75 "Feather Duster".
I can't remember what it had in it or what was special
about it.
What are they just stripper model Dusters??

Got this from valient.org:

The Feather Dusters were made in 1976, with an aluminum inner hood, trunk bracing, bumper brackets, and intake manifold; economy carb and distributor calibration; large exhaust system; tall rear axle ratio; and either 3 speed auto or 4 speed overdrive manual trans.

Their gas mileage was great for their day, and even for the present, given their size: 24 city, 36 highway. Few modern cars of that size can claim this. With an automatic, gas mileage slipped considerably, to 22 city/31 highway - still comparable to modern cars. Very few were sold, partly because they had to compete with the new Aspen and Volare, which were in the same price class; and because the tall rear axle ratio took a serious hit on performance.

Used to see them quite as bit around here. Besides the one listed above from Tinley Park, which was the last one I have seen in awhile, they have popped up on egag over the last year or so. I also talked to a guy at the Spring Fling in L.A. last April that had one. The last unrestored hang 10 Dart I saw in IL was in McHenry IL at a used car dealership about 15 years ago. I see the Orange interior parts at swap meets more than I see the cars anymore.

Speaking of the Feather Dusters, a girl I know was doing some modeling and had a photo shoot in Chicago about 3 years ago. I guess they went into an alley near the studio and shot a bunch of pictures of her seated on a car that was left on blocks with no wheels. That car was a gold Feather Duster. I always wanted her to show me where exactly it was.

Just looking on ebay today. There are two hang 10 Darts on there now and one Spirit of '76 Dart. Anyone ever see one of those? I had seen one other before the one on ebay now and I think it was project car that was torn apart.
