So our contractor calls me yesterday from Lowe's and tells me they do not have our new toilet for him to pick up (we're 3/4 of the way through a bathroom remodel). I come home, change cars and run over to Lowe's with 1. a printed copy of the entire Lowes.com Internet product order we placed, and 2. a printed copy of their e-mail informing me that our toilet has arrived. After about 25 minutes at the front service desk, the toilet magically appears with the explanation that, "Well, it was back in plumbing." Did the toilet think that hiding in plumbing was a good idea, considering it's part of "Plumbing"? Like a tree hiding in a forest, hoping it won't get cut down? "Don't look at me, you want one of those other toilets over there."
I tell the Lowe's employee I'll bring the car over to load the toilet, and he did get a chuckle out of loading it into the Dodge. I sent this photo to our contractor to tell him my trip to Lowe's was successful:

...........I can top that story.......

Back when (mid 70's) I decided to put a THREE40 in the old 440 70 RR, I pulled the trunk lid off and set it aside, and hauled the 340 home from the junk yard in the trunk of the RR

I was REAL broke for a month or two after this swap, this is before I put headers and the 'luminum valve covers on it, which I still have today!!

I like running errands every now and then in the old cars. Picking up a few things at Lowes or WalMart makes me think of the 50 year old history my old cars went through yo get where they are today. It is hard to believe they were brand new and used for this purpose on a daily basis. However, I am going to bet there has never been a toilet in the back of my old Dart. LOL!!!

I did the exact same thing the day before yesterday, but put it in the back seat because my trunk lid wouldn't close with it in there.

(My seats move forward as the back tilts forward so it went in there just fine.)

We took my block to and from the machine shop in the trunk of a ford escort. That made people laugh.

Thanks to my job I am making daily trips to Home Depot. I have had water heaters, black iron pipes, drywall sheets...all sorts of crap in my mustang or strapped to the roof. I do miss having a pick up but there are days where driving a fun car will put you in a better mood.

Very nice dart by the way!

My Barracuda weighed 3500 lbs on a grain elevator scale in college. When I graduated and came back to LA I weighed it at the scale in Ames, Iowa at...

5600 lbs.

I had to put air shocks pump all the way in the back. But my mistake was I didn't adjust my front T-bars. So it bottomed out and soon after arriving back it broke the LCA stud hole in the k-member.

All the stuff on the ground is JUST THE CONTENTS out of the U-Haul carry top. Those are 4 15x7 and 15x 8.5 torque thrusts, heavy real street sign, heavy real Beach sign.
