Welcome to FABO. I live in Chandler Arizona. You do get used to the "Dry" heat believe it or not......... and I can drive my Duster for nine months out of the year even without air conditioning !!!

I see your in the Army. PROUD of YOU GUYS!!!! I am retired Air Force.

Any other proud veterans out there that want to welcome a new fellow military member and MOPAR owner?

Welcome Andrew!! I'm up in Surprise, just NW of Phoenix. Retired AF here...just pulled the plug on Oct 1st!! I agree 100% with the above comments -- you will get used to the "DRY" heat and you'll soon see 100* aint bad...it's the 110*+ that sucks!!

Welcome! The leaning tower of power is a cool motor, virtually indestructable with minimal maintenance. Nothing to get exited about performance-wise, without radical mods. But hey, that's what it's all about, right?

Retired AF here too. Keep up the good work and hope you stay out of the sandbox.

Small world, I work at Gila River Casinos right down the street from where you work............

LOL!! My wife was just there yesterday playing lunch-time bingo...she was on her way home when I was on my way to work. :-(

If was in your position, I would work with the Slant 6. There just so unique. And it would be different popping your hood to people and they see a modified Slant 6, not a V8. Another point is that it will be original. But thats me. I am one for original engine. Thats what I am doing with my Duster 318. Instead of swapping in a different V8 such as a 360, I am rebuilding the 318. I would like to have a peppy Slant 6 one day. But thats my opinion.

welcome PvtDuster !!!
glad you found this grate site. and my I say Thank you for time supporting our country.

My vote would be to keep the /6 and mod the motor and chasi.
aint nothin like a good handelin A body that will surprise everyone. but that's just me.
injoy your self here and have a goodone :drinkers:

Hi! I'm new here as well. Seems to be a great forum though. I've been monitoring the different discussions and there is a lot of knowledge to be had here.

Im in AZ as well. You're young you'll get used to the heat!

Supercharged slant 6? Wow! what a great idea! I love slant 6 vehicles; they're unique. Can't believe I said that. When I was a kid they were everywhere, now... well not so common, so I guess they're unique. A supercharged slant 6; definitely unique! But, is it practical to do? $$$ Slant six go fast stuff aint cheap! I met a guy last year with a 10 second slant six in a Valiant. Beautiful car. Aluminum rods, custom headers, extensive head work, custom pistons, etc. etc. etc. Really fun to watch the car run and stuff. Got a lot of attention because of the six, but man he put the $$$ in it. A good small block with tried and true parts will put you into the 12's with no trouble at all for way cheaper than the puffer and it's necessary parts. Last time I checked Uncle Sam doesn't pay US Army privates Fortune 500 salaries!

Last; thanks for your service! On behalf of my family and myself we appreciate it!

Good Luck!

Welcome to the forum.

I never got to serve in dry heat, and would have traded you for where I was stationed in the Army. The place they sent me in 1969 had a lot of humidity in the air, specially during the monsoon season!

I've lived here in SoCal for quite some time and dry heat beats humidity, but to me its still bloody hot and I have never got used to it.
