HELP A/C heater switch

-
I need the same switch & all I am finding are the 68-up switches but nobody can confirm if we can use it. The newer switch has different connections.

I found this, but can't verify it as fact........

The older switch only has 1 pin to use in the lower 2 I'm guessing you just have to figure out which 1 to plug in.

Thanks for the info been checking the only true replacement for 2096084 is the 2587564,prices alll over the map from 195.00 to over 400.00 for nos.Purchased a used one but was defective.

I bought some 5-button climate switches for $25 new from Paddock in the 90's for my 69 Dart. The $48 ebay price is a deal today. I had to use one to replace the rare 4-button one in my 65 Newport, figuring out how to re-wire and plumb it. Do like me and install a 30 A relay on the "blower high" setting, otherwise the high current will eventually melt your new pneumo climate switch plus blower switch.

Can you explain which wire that is? Pics? on the power or ground side?

It looks like there are 2 versions of that part # the early version with the right pin location & the later version with an extra pin location

Dealing with dads 67 ac wiring and switches was a nightmare, as it turns out there was an update part way thru the year, so there is more than 1 wiring schematic for 67 ac/heat wiring....67dart273 pointed it out to us!

Here it is, take a look at the 1st diagram. The ac/heater vacuum switch, it has an "empty" terminal(right beside where C1 connects). But in the 2nd diagram, you clearly see a jumper wire from that empty terminal to the one beside it(labelled C1A). Also in the 1st diagram it doesnt show the temperature control switch that is in the 2nd diagram(C2 & C2A) Subtle differences that had me and dad scratching our heads. As I said we had one diagram, then spoke to 67dart273 and his factory schematic was different.

So in one drawing both blower and clutch coil power is supplied by a single fuse and wire ( smells of circuit overload to me ). The other drawing shows power supplied by 2 seperate circuits.
As for the temperature control switch.. If the compressor runs without the blower running at least at low speed the vaporater coil would ice over in a hurry.
That's also why the 73 and later systems fan switch doesn't have an off position. Selecting any form of climate control results in minimum low speed fan on.
I'll have to study this a bit to determine what exactly caused the change.
