Help, Another Oil Pan Leak Thread

-
In addition to all of the previous posts , which are all good , BTW . I firmly believe that most people overtighten the attaching screws , and , don't do it I the proper sequence . ON a 1/4" fastener all that is necessary is 8-12 ft.lbs. A dab of blue thread locker wouldn't hurt , either . Moroso Blue pan gaskets work like heck .

Have you checked the depth of the bolt holes for obstructions? Are the pan bolts clamping all the way?

This! Make sure they can screw down snuggly to the pan rail with the pan off. A buddy had the bolts bottoming out before coming all the way down to the rail on his 440.

Also, flatten the bolt holes if they are dimpled in, clean the threads on the pan rail with carb or brake cleaner and air pressure use Permatex Ultra seal or the Right Stuff and add pan rail stiffeners available from Hughes or others to increase the distribution of the clamping force. This does require longer bolts that will also need to be checked for proper depth.
