Help needed heater core?

I have a 67 FB with a 360. I’m seeking advice if the heater core need‘s replaced. All heater controls are turned off but when driving the windows windshield will fog up. Temporary fix I put tape over the 2 dash vents and that stops the fogging.

Remove the heater hoses from the heater core and run the water pump heater hose to the intake heater hose thus eliminating the coolant running through the core

Check the carpet on the passanger side and under it for wetness.

For the short term do as OldManMopar said.

You can get a nipple and connect the two long hoses together at the firewall.

Or remove the long hoses and use a short piece at the water pump.


But my money is on the heater core having a pinhole leak as you suspect

Yes. It needs a new heater core.

You can close all the controls but there is still water in the box and it will fog up the glass. Bypass the core for a temporary fix, replace the core for complete repair.
