Help please asap...

My fuel sending unit hasnt been workin in a few weeks but ground, guage, wiring all checks out so I just pulled the sender unit. Can someone tell me how the "gold" piece from the + wire connects to the rheostat? Mine is just kind of sitting there, if I test the rheostat everything checks out. But it isnt connected to the + "bracket". thanks

Just a guess, but it looks like that wire came off the little ear in the sender just below it on the edge of the "gold" piece. They're pretty simple, not like you really need a wiring diagram or anything. Since you have it out, why not try to jump it with an alligator clip, then connect the gauge up and ground it while you move the reostat back and forth, see if it moves the gauge? Solder it back on, if that does the trick.
