Sweet! the last post on here needs to be a video of her running and the two of you enjoying a beer! electrical sucks. i can remember having to rewire a 93 buick with a V6 my senior year. i was impressed i could remember to breathe. Johnny.

so was the faulty plug in the new wiring from evans ??? if so did they make good on your bad parts ?

Nice job...lol. It sucks... but nice job. The worst eletrical thing I had was a no fuel pump on a mid 80s F150. 3 complete days of All Data, cutting tape on harneses, and playing with the multimeter, and it was a simple corroded terminal inside connector to the FP relay near the battery. Not corroded where they touch... but up where the wire was crimped into the terminal.

Yes, the molded plug which Evans probably buys in bulk was part of the new harness purchased from him......:angry7: I wonder how many more of these faulty ECU plugs slipped out to the public. The harness was purchased in Sept 08 and was never installed until a few weeks ago.

As far as them making good on the harness remains to be seen.......

I can tell you he was borderline rude today on the phone and still has not made a replacement harness.

NO customer service skills whatsoever.

NO apology.

NO sympathy.

His only worry was getting this harness back. No wonder he only accepts Money Orders. :angry4:

Wow! That's no way to run a business for crying out loud. If it were my business I would have apologized profusely, sent you the new harness one day shipping with a pre-paid shipping tag to ship yours back and a coupon for 20% off your next order. That would be good service.

No wonder I make my own harnesses.

seems to be the norm thses days,,,not to many go out of there way to make good, just glad u found the problem,,and may have tipped others offf to a future problem

I'd tell him to send you the new harness, with the return call tag in the box, You remove new harness from box, make sure it works and send him back the bad one in the same box your new one came in.

There are really only two groups making harnesses that I can think of, M&H and evans. When you are the only real game in town, you can play a bit tough on the rules I guess.

yup thats it,,,,only game in town,,,,never heard of this M H you mentioned

Only sell to Year One. They supply year one with all their harnesses on an exclusive contract.

So evans is the only game in town, not going through year one.

:thumbrig: Maybe the "tip" of the iceburg.........not sure. I read another thread here on FABO within the last few days about an Evans harness that didn't work, but the member never figured out why. He just replaced the harness with a different one, but I can't seem to find the post again.

I had an issue with a harness that evans modified. The alternator charging circuit wires were'nt spliced properly into the ignition portion. I either had to ship him the offending part or fix it myself. I fixed it and later when I saw him in person he made good on a partial refund in consideration of the shipping that would have been needed. I thought he was fair about the whole deal. But I was surprised to have seen this splice overlooked. Everything else I have seen or heard about has been positive relative to the work and service provided, we all have bad days.
