Help to quit smoking

-
After 25 years of smoking and quitting twice for 9 months each, I had returned again for a few years before getting a prescription for Wellbutrin at the doctor's urging. She even gave me enough free samples to do 4 months of medication for free. At the start, you take the pill every day without quitting any smokes. Then each day from then on, you eliminate one cigarette until you get down to zero. So if you smoke one pack a day (20 cigarettes), it will take only 20 days before you get to zero. Well the urge to smoke leaves you entirely before you even give up one smoke, so by the time you get to zero, it is just conquering your hand/mouth habit. Then promise yourself to never take even "just one" more smoke! It's been 17 smoke free years for me now.

God bless all you smokers, so you can be smoke-free too!

I quit about ten years ago. Did the anti crave drug, whatever it was, as prescribed and it worked. Only my instructions were to take the drug and still smoke and set a quit date 2 weeks ahead then do the cold turkey. Went about 4 days and craved bad after work, which was a trigger cause I would always fire up upon leaving property at work. Well I dug a cigarette from a very old pack and got through half before it tasted so bad I tossed it. Tried same thing 3 days after that with same results. Still crave them once in a while. Took over a year for the smell to get out of my coats and my car. Smell? I can from 20 feet away.... Definitely one of my better decisions in life, and I quit when they were around $3.50 a pack.

I finally quit trying to quit. I did quit all the prescription meds that can legally advertise so long as they mention all their adverse effects ( at an auctioneers pace ).
