Following this as a guide, https://www.earlycuda.org/techdocs/ConvertFrontUJoint.pdf , I am coming up with a question on the slip yoke. The article says to use 2-3-800kx. I can't find that but I am finding 2-3-8001kx. I am pretty sure the article just has a typo. Anyone done this?

The subject is a 1964 Barracuda 273 and an 8.75 swap. May as well do the driveshaft up right. Getting all my parts from Denny's.
Here are the Spicer part numbers for the B&T conversion.
Flange
2-2-349
U-joint
5-153x
Slip yoke
2-3-800kx
Spline
2-40-1711
Tube
2 1/2 dia / .083 wall

I did that conversion, and a friend did the article, but it was so many years ago (over 20 yrs), I don't remember and my parts list is long gone. I can't do any thing untill next week. If you don't find the info you need, send me a private message on Sun or Mon, to remind me, and I will check with my local driveshaft shop. They might have the correct info.

i just did this back in october and encountered the same deal. i *believe* i used the 8001kx unit, but i've slept since then.

i'll dig up my notes and see what all it was and who i ordered from.

it was kind of a rigamarole, summit didn't have everything and randy's wanted way more than i wanted to pay for the part and then doubled up the shipping so i wound up piecing it together a little hodge-podge from ebay, napa and summit.

i had to massage the holes in the companion flange a little to get everything to fit up, but other than that everything went together EZ-PZ.

I sourced everything on that list from - would you believe it - from Amazon! According to my history I ordered the 8001kx. The spline fits it just fine. . I woll also have to massage the mounting holes in the flange to fit my 64 LA904

It may be that the part number changed or the author simply left the "1" off. Thanks guys.

Just ordered the parts from Denny's Driveshaft. Better prices than Amazon and free shipping.

Boy, prices have really gone up. I had two shafts done. First one they used my old shaft tube. Second one they used a new tube. Said the cost of labor on reusing the old tube was about the same as the material for the new tube. I don't remember the exact price, but was around $125-$150 each, parts and labor.
PS: I think it is a typo on the part number in that article.

I would say Denny's has been around longer than any of them and Denny's has a reputation to uphold!! Good choice
