Do slicks get balanced??? Is there a need to do it???

Yes for a mopar, but no for everything else as they don't go fast enough for it to be a problem!! LOL

I never do. I've never had a Hoosier slick even with a tube want more than .50 oz. Lay enough rubber warming tires every pass you'll be balancing tires every track day lol!

i have mine balanced at 15lbs also, they like to jack them up to 30 or 35lbs

My first job was installing tires and balancing them on a bubble stand! !!!! Put the weights on the rim and divide by two!!!!!! One front one back

I have an older late nineties Hunter balancer and it won't compensate for the tire being wadded up at starting line or the growth of a racing slick carcass during the pass. But I could put on one heck of a balance for the return road.
