With the setup I have, which is the better distributor to go with, Mechanical advance or Vaccumn advance? This is a street car that might see the track once a year.

360 - .040 over
10.5:1 comp
magnum heads p/p 2.02 valves
Comp Cams XE268H - 1.6 rockers - total lift .509/.512
Holley 750 Vaccumn secondaries
Dynomax ceramic coated headers
MSD 6AL box
TCI 2800 stall converter
727 Man Rev
3.92 rear
SS springs
standard brakes
26/27 inch tires

Thanks

Jack

Jack, do yourself a faveor and get the MSD mech advance dist. It's so easy to change your advance curve it's not even funny. They give you four different cams and springs to change initial and rate of advance. I have one and love it. I can change anything I want and not take it off the car. All the springs and cams are on the top under the rotor. It's sweet.

That's the one (MSD 8534) I've got written down on my things to get sheet.
This whole project is starting to come together. My garage is just about finished, My parts hunt is almost over as far as the drive train goes and the wife is still talking to me. Life is good! :D
I moved the engine into the garage last night. The car goes in very soon and I finally get to work on it.

I sure do Chad. But I made a mans garage to make the hours go a little better. I have room for the car, the parts, a fridge and even a bunk if the wife gets a little to bitchy. LOL

when you live in the great north you have to build your garage like that you never know when you might get snowed in and cant make it the 30ft to the house

Thanks a whole bunch Chad. You just had to rub that in didn't you. It's bad enough that we get 6 months of winter here, now you have to pour salt on the wounds.

I'll think about that comment when I'm moose hunting. LOL LOL

Jack

well, if you got snowed into it... you could get some work done on your car without anybody bothering you at all :)

I've almost got the wife talked into it. I guess it would be one of those weeks that I can't make it to the garage because of all the snow. :D :D
