If this is not allowed, I'm sorry, but not sorry at the same time.

Hope this isn't someone here, because its definitely not cool at all. Stuff like this is why people stop helping out others in the community.

.........and ham radio.........

I once gave an antenna tuner to a new ham with the "understanding" that he would pass it on. He did......for sale......at the next "hamfest"

It sucks and I agree with your sentiment, but the fact is, when you GIVE something, you give it. From there, unless it's agreed upon to return said parts if they are not used.......I call it "the redneck return clause", if you don't have "some sort" of agreement like that, then it's a done deal. When I give something, it's given. Like that distributor I donated to the benefit auction on FBBO. If whoever wins it turns around and sells it for 500 bucks, more power to um. That's not any of my business.

There are plenty of those people out there. Mopar, ferd, chevy, tractors, etc.

Unfortunately, you sir are correct. I don't understand why people do things like this. Not only is is bad for the community but its also bad for the person doing it because they get a bad wrap and bad karma. The karma follows you around and gets you back when you least want it to.

And Brian Gibson goes MIA lol.
I dont care what your story is.....sons car, grandsons, daughters. I try to give benefit of doubt, but I have 3 kids and 4 grandkids, so why doesnt the buyer give me MORE $$ to "help" me out?
ALL SORTS of sob stories lol

Yes that’s true bad apples everywhere but if I give someone something it’s theirs to do what they want with it but that’s just me. If there are conditions when it’s given may as well keep it for yourself. I agree it’s not right in many ways but I don’t have to answer for it.

From reading the comments it seems that it was agreed upon to pay them forward, the guy said his grandson needed heads for a car. Now he is turning around and selling them for a profit, which isn't what they were meant for.

I always try to not jack up prices or do things to people like that. I believe in Karma and always say I need more good karma on my side.

Take for example guns and ammo right now. People are charging double even triple for stuff right now. Every time I see things that are hard to find I buy them and sell em to the gun community that I'm part of for what I paid for them.

Well, that's for them to work out. It does suck, but I'm not gettin my blood pressure up over it. As George Thorogood says "That don't confront me" lol

I agree with that. Where I draw the line is when they use the bs story of hard times to get stuff for free or very little, having the intent the whole time to flip it. Hey wasnt there several pages on here recently about a well known flipper playing that same game. Maybe his alias is Brian Gibson?

Right. That's just out and out lying. There's been several of those types here.

Hams are some of the cheapest I have ever dealt with. You could give them a working transceiver and they will ask for a refund when it dies.

That's not fair, Slowswinger... there are 761,000 hams in the US alone. I've been licensed since '76 and I don't act like that - nor do any of my friends in various clubs I've been a member of.

Of course there are some bad apples as in every walk of life. But please don't tar everyone with the same brush.
