I'm in the process of cleaning up my engine compartment. I'm almost finished but I have the overflow and the washer res left. They are in hours shape, just a little dirty. I have soaked them in hot soapy water and scrubbed them with scotchbrite but they are still dirty, mostly inside. Anyone have any ideas?

I sink plastics in a tank filled with Wesleys Bleach-White. It will remove oils, paints, etc.. but will not completely remove the yellowing that comes with age.

Well, I found out that uncooked rice and bleach works great. The rice is just abrasive enough to assist in cleaning the nasty stuff out.

After your done with that rice and salt pour it over stir fry veggies or a chicken pot pie.

but an old gas tank rust removal trick was to take a handful of nuts (who doesn't have those lying around?) and put them inside. Errr, hex nuts, not peanuts.

Shake vigorously, lather, rinse and repeat.
